Hair in my eyes, here I go in the early morning
there's the sink with it's taps both hot and cold
washing I think has to be such a simple thing
and yet there's something here I cannot hold.
It's just a piece of soap, it looks so harmless
It's sitting on the sink all pure and white
This never seems to happens in the adverts
this never evending fight

slipping through my fingers all the time, I try to hold it but I'm failing
I feel like wailing, it's slipping through my fingers all the time
Do I really NEED to wash this bad? Each time I think it's worth the trying
It's going flying, slipping through my fingers all the time

It's been on the floor, fallen out of and in the basin
Covered all with a white and foamy goo
All but me in the bathroom is good and soapy
And I wonder what am I to do?
I've tried it on a rope that makes things harder
I've tried to use it wet and use it dry
(slipping through my fingers all the time)
Surely washing shouldn't be this hard
It shouldn't make a grown man cry

Seems I really can't get this at all, the liquid soap looks more appealing
It's on the ceiling, slipping through my fingers all the time

Sometimes I wish that I could just stop washing
There has to be a better way to die
