The Lyrics

As much as I generally enjoy reading new song spoofs on this site, and as much as I believe in freedom to choose topics and express honest opinions--I still believe that sometimes a theme can get run into the ground. I don't expect this song to get a lot of votes, high or otherwise; it's just saying what I feel now.
[short instrumental intro]

No more carefree laughter
Boredom ever after
Clicking on the latest spoofs
Tears in my eyes
Bathroom songs without an end,
making me sigh

No more pee, no more poo
Anyone can overdo
No more pee, no more poo
Funny for a while, but those times are through
New material's harder, I know,
but please let it go:
No more pee, no more poo
Hope to see something new

Mem'ries--good days, bad days
Songs stay with us always
Sparked by old familiar tunes
poets will play
Now it's near-monotonous,
much less to say

No more pee, no more poo
Anyone can overdo
No more pee, no more poo
Toilet's lost its charm, hope this time it's through
Inspiration's not easy, I know,
but please let it go:
No more pee, no more poo
Hope to see something new

[instrumental bridge]

No more pee, no more poo
Anyone can overdo
No more pee, no more poo
Nature's call hangs up--when you've gone, it's through
Other subjects are harder, I know, but please let it go:
No more pee, no more poo
Hope to see something new

[instrumental coda fades out]

Well, I had more than 100 under my belt when I wrote "Hand me the bran!" (http://www.amiright.com/parody/80s/acdc44.shtml), my first and only parody in that genre. You're still on what? 10? So in comparisson you have the runs! :-)

Excellent parody, superb pacing and a good heartfelt message. 5-5-5!

Excellent! When we run out of original ideas we lean back on the toilet humor. It always gets laughs, but is an easy way to get laughs.

My toilet lost its Charmin once; rough day. Seriously, well done. I know how it is when you think of an idea and you just can't hold it in any longer (heh heh)

Hi. I agree that some topics can get run into the ground, but songs like this will probably not convince writers like me to refrain from being such potty-mouths. I use this site as an outlet (no pun intended) for the ten-year-old in me. You may not like it, my friends may not understand it, but that's really okay with me. I wish you--and all of us parodists--fresh topics and inspiration. Let's keep having fun whatever the genre.

5-5-5. Even if the pacing weren't good and the parody weren't funny, I would still give this a high rating just for the message that this parody presents. I'm about sick of the references to excrement to fill creative gaps in parodies, and hopefully this parody at least has a small influence on parodists considering childish filler.
