The Lyrics
Ok..this was written after a trip to Edinburgh where I discovered that once, before they had proper sanitation every one in a building (sometimes as high as 14 stories) would all use one bucket as a toilet and at a specified time every night everyone would simply throw their raw sewage out the window. This was accompanied by a cry of "Guarde L'eau" ( French meaning "Beware the Water") which the Scots would pronounce 'Gard a Loo'
My My, the pee and poo is steaming in the corner,
Oh yeah! It's stinking up the room in quite a most revolting way,
The street fourteen stories below,
Is where all the shit's gonna go....
'Gard a Loo!' Out of the window, my shit I'll throw,
'Gard a Loo!' Onto the poor buggers down below,
'Gard a Loo!' Couldn't escape if they wanted to,
'Gard a Loo!' Throwing my faeces all over you,
'Gard a Loo!' Don't look up when you hear 'Gard a Loo!'
My My, I tried to hold it back but it smelled awful,
Oh Yeah! And now it seems my only chance is chucking out this shite,
Because I just couldn't care,
My crap will now fly through the air.
