Parody Song Title:

"Spell's No More"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

KVELLED: gloated; PHONEMES: units of speech sound; WHELK: large marine gastropod (snail) found in temperate waters. BETE: short for "bĂȘte noire," "bane,' literally "black beast"; BELLES LETTRES: light and elegant literature, especially that which is excessively refined by aestheticism and minor in subject, substance, or scope; CRENELS: notches. Thanks to Merry & Pippin ("Hell in Lore") for reminding me of this Turtles classic.
I had a thing for a tune
Yelled by a fellow, a loon--
Held me in its spell. Quelled for sure, hear me.

Impelled, I was fixated,
Compelled; he ululated,
Bellowed; well, I'm through--
"Spell"s no more, really.

"'Spell'"s by score," my belle kvelled, "unwell;
Expel what's made me hell-dwell;
Squelch it pell-mell, boy, get better!"

"Spell"s no more; a wealth of my time
Fell finding phonemes, "ell" rhymes;
Felt that to "Spell" I was fettered.

Zealous I felt; "Spell"s moved me.
I's a shell; it behooved me
To swelter on those "Spell"s no more; clammy
Were digits swelled and held low
O'er Dell's letters; I'd meld no
Dial, Selsun, Prell; smelled smelt, shell-whelk chummy.

"Spell"s no more; "Swell!" svelte belle yells, "Well,
Healthy, you; I's repelled; tell
Me bell's knelled for hellish bĂȘte, sir."

"Spell"s no more; I tell swell belle I'm
Delving twelve-step paradigm.
I've dispelled "Spell"s for belles lettres.

"Spell"s no more; cranium's crenel's rebel!
"Spell"s no more in cer'bellum gel, expelled!
Well. . . ?

Like I said: Yeah right! You can't resist the siren call of the Spell any more than I can raise the Edmund Fitzgerald!
