Parody Song Title:

"Sweet Land or Deep at Sea"

Parody Written by:

John A. Barry

The Lyrics

Chum girls
love it not aground;
they would much rather go down to sea.
But my girl
doesn’t chum around
with the boys; she’d rather eat with me.

Time to dine,
drink some wine here on the land.
Fishing line ain’t in her plan;
cuisine “high” is her demand.

Chum boys
love it not aground;
Onboard, yet, they think of ’lubber screws,
Some boys, though, think that love’s found
in a fruitless searching for fugus.

They’re inclined
to malign the life on land,
Fishing line is in their plan;
they might die in boats shark-rammed.

Chum girls,
likely to go down
in the drink with all the fishing crew.
Oh boy! That line sure does sound
like a double entendre, it’s true.

It’s condign
that such lines should here be banned:
trashy trollop tropes can’t stand
up to high-minded line scans.

“Chum girls”
is a line where’s found
bunch of smut when viewed “seamantic’lly.”
Such vile words
have no place around
those who seek a purity pitch
and haven’t a pubic itch.
Such grossness we should ever see!
Such tropes, please keep away from me!
