The Lyrics

I was bitten by a deer tick in the woods near Walden Pond this past weekend.
Is there lyme,
In the lesion,
Of that deer tick's bite?

If there's lyme,
Then there'll be a red ring,
Spread-ing around like TARGET's ads!

So tell me if you see one
Where that damn
Tick-bastard left its mark

If there's lyme,
In the lesion,
Then I'll scream!

Is it red?
( Is it red? )
Is it spreading?
( Is it spreading? )
Is there
A dough-nut-like ring?

Have you taken
( Have you taken )
Dox-y-cy--
( Dox-y-cy-- )

( --cline to )
--cline to en-sure dis-ease won't live?

There's a dough-nut growing
( Growing what? )

A tick-infected hole!

It's the sign
That the lesion
Is lyme-ing

True story, except for the red doughnut-shaped ring ... that has not appeared, and because I took the Doxycycline my doctor prescribed for me, I most likely will not develop Lyme disease. Only 3% of deer tick bites result in Lyme disease, and Doxycycline treatment within 72 hours of the bite reduces that already-slim probability by another 90%. Also, they say the little bastards have to be attached and feeding (*shudder*) for at least 24 to 36 hours to transmit the bacterium that can cause Lyme disease --- and this parTICKular little tick-bastard was removed after less than 24 hours, and after a shower which had possibly drowned it.

Near Walden Pond? What a let-down for you. (Even though I know ticks are just about everywhere...) Really like it 5's

Not true, Rick. The bug that bit Johnny is currently staggering around the suburbs of Boston in a drunken stupor, looking for insect eggs to fertilize.
