The Lyrics

Second of the Sextuple Smoosh, after My Bonnie/My Dad.
OS (My Girl) video of live original performance, in full black-and-white (cuts off the fade-outs), here.

Song being reworked (My Dad), actual video clip from the TV series source of it, here.

He may not be much -- most in world, would say
Place in his-tory? He won't be on display
No fame, por- -tray
Still, I want to live his way
My Dad (my Dad, so rad!)
Braggin' bout my Dad (Hi, Dad!)

He's got *not* much money, but he's "Man" to me
He's got a strength so strong: without words, still I see
Well, you bet I'm glad
He can do no wrong, my Dad
My Dad! (my Dad, my Dad)
Listens when I'm sad (my Dad)

Yay, yay, yay!
Rah, rah, rah!
Oooooh.... Yeah...

Proud to be his son, and -- walk by his side
Folks say "He's the one" and I would -- 'bout burst with pride
Though ... I felt real small
He'd make me feel ten feet tall
My Dad (I love - him so)

Boastin' 'bout my Dad
I hope my son, maybe someday, say
"That's my Dad
"Role model: great, does he convey
"Real Man: Dad"

Singin' 'bout, sing 'n shout, sing it out:
My Dad

(repeat through generations; don't fade the quality of parenting)

Sorry, no fancy footnotes or even outro elucidations. This business of smooshing six songs isn't as easy as it looks...

That's right! The dad's are RAD, the reason why the fives I HAD, are off to you...

I see this more as a song of honor to your father, rather than a smoosh. I hope so, anyway. My Dad inspired me to write. I wish he were still around to see what I have done. Hope you'll get time to go back and look at my smoosh of "Hallelujah" and "A Boy Named Sue". That was a father and son song, sort of. Glad to have you back, gives me the urge to start writing again.

Mark Scotti: This LAD is GLAD, not just a TAD, but a WAD (oops, slant-rhyme -- shortens the "a") for your v/c. Thanks!

Patrick: Can we leave it at just a smoosh? .... Otherwise, all those sheeparodies start to take on meaning, as well... ;-D
Wow, what power to wield, to inspire others to write.... *seriously*, thanks, although expect appearances to be spotty (no time to clean them). With a complicomment like that, will add yours to the "must read" list -- don't think I've ever seen you smoosh. Thanks for v/c.

Jean Poole: I'll bet you aced your Darwinian test! ... thanks for v/c!

With this perky paean to Papa your ascendancy to Electradipus Rex is assured! I'm Tempt'd to smoosh more than fives in the submission box, Daddy-o!

TJC: Does that mean that I have to poke my eyes out? ;) ... uh, and as for that voting box, smoosh away! lol! (thanks!)

Old Man Ribber: Ambiguous. My Gosh good or My Gosh bad? :-D (thanks for v/c!)

Wow, this would make a perfect Father's Day parody as well. Wished I could have thought about that! :) I'm close to my dad, that's for sure. 555.
