Parody Song Title:

"Groovin' (Every Pitch This Afternoon)"

Parody Written by:

Michael Pacholek

The Lyrics

"Grooving" a pitch means throwing a fastball right over the plate. This is also known as "competitive suicide" -- unless, of course, you're known as "Roger Clemens" or "Randy Johnson." And "It is high, it is far, it is...GONE!" is the home run call of Yankee broadcaster John Sterling. Not to be confused with the "high" the Rascals appear to have been while recording the original.
Groovin' every pitch this afternoon.
Baseball flies away now much too soon.

I can't imagine pitching any better.
I got no curveball, get my heat together.
This ain't the place I'd like to be, but here I'm

Groovin' this pitch right in front of you.
Barry Bonds won't have nothin' on you.

I hurt my neck from your home run to see.
Sammy Sosa's someone you can be.
You swing your bat and now my team is beat from

Groovin' every pitch this afternoon.
Baseball flies away now much too soon.
Oh, no, no, no!

It is high! It is far! It is gone!

I'm gonna cloud up sunny days this way.
I'm gonna throw our Pennant chance away.
I gotta learn to pitch within five days.
But life will be agony, because I'll be endlessly

Groovin' every pitch this afternoon.
Baseball flies away now much too soon.
(repeat 'til fade)
