The Lyrics

Paul Robinson did "Wish I Weren't Batman." In the current DC Comics Universe, Bruce Wayne is no longer Batman, and is believed by the characters to be dead -- but we, the readers, know otherwise. Dick Grayson, formerly the first Robin and later Nightwing, is now Batman, with Damian Wayne -- allegedly the son of Bruce and villain/ex-girlfriend Talia al-Ghul, but is he really? -- as the new Robin. The old dynamic is reversed: Batman is a wisecracker, Robin is a brooding bastard.
(instrumental opening)

Nightwing's Now Batman.
Bruce Wayne has reached the end.
Legacy he left
Dick will not suspend.
Tim Drake's gone off and
Jason Todd's dead no more.
Keeping track of this
I can't do anymore.

Batman hunts you.
Yes he hunts you!
Look out, he hunts you!

Grayson, first Robin.
In the circus, a whiz.
Parents were murdered.
Got in crime-fighting biz.
Grew up, new costume.
New identity, too.
Came and went, Jason.
Then came Tim, partner new.

And they hunt you.
Yes, they hunt you!
Look out, they hunt you!

(instrumental break)

Nightwing's Now Batman.
A grown-up Super Friend.
Speaks witticisms
to bad guys he will send.
Alfred still helps him.
But Damian's sore.
Keeping track of this
I can't do anymore.

And he hunts you.
Yes, he hunts you!
Look out, he hunts you!

(instrumental break)

Breathe deep, the Gothamite gloom.
Light from Bat-Signal enters room.
Busts up Joker's sick merriment.
Another criminal's uselessness spent.
Impassioned gunmen fire as one.
How many shots have hit Batman? Why, none!
He knocks them all out, without any gun.
Senior bad guys think, "Wow, he seems young."

Cold-hearted Bat, he rules the night.
Criminals never escape his sight.
He doesn't care if you're black or white.
He wants you set on a path that's right.
Or he'll give you a contusion.

(instrumental close)

Wow, now I know how the Riddler feels! That will be the day that Nightwing/Batman turns to the dark side! Take some dark and dangerous 5's! Be careful with them, though!
