Parody Song Title:

"Skip The Laugh Track For Me"

Parody Written by:

Old sitcoms,
There are some..on TV
Need yucks, I'll agree..
But laugh tracks aren't right..
Makes me mad,
'stead of glad,
Thinking how..they pimp us now
Like we're not too bright..
Frustrates me so, each show
Here at home..
I'm hearing "Ha, ha, ha,..hee, hee"
Pro-ducers..
Skip the laugh track for me

They should know (oughta' know)
Just write better gags..and silent lags,
There'd be none contained..
We would howl, and roll on the floor,
Stay in much more, be entertained..
But giggly squeals
On synd'ied reels,
Just insults our intelligence..
Pro-ducers..
Give that laugh track si-lence,

mmmm

"Situates" I see, most would agree,
Seldom warrant so much laugh..
Gives a made up phony kind of flow
Like some shopped pho-tograph..

It needs scripts, minus clips
Of guffaws each page,
Like a play on stage,
Let it stand alone..
Work things out, in rehearsal, watch
Kick it up a notch
When there's quiet tone..
Then when you've tweaked 'em funny and right
We'll laugh appreciatively..
Pro-ducers..
Drop the laugh track for me

Pro-ducers..
Skip the laugh track for me

I agree from dead pan to bed pan, laughter shouldn't be forced. 5's

Great subjet matter and so true. I love the "Golden Age" TV comedies which were filmed before live audiences. The laughter was genuine. The main reason laugh tracks are overused is because the writing is not nearly so funny and innovative as the old stuff. Great job! 555

I guess Show Business folks figure that they know when we are supposed to laugh.

No laugh track needed for *your* parodies! :D
Ditto to what Forsby said above.

On track for fives! I completely agree with you with one exception... any show with a continuous "Nyuk-nyuk-nyuk!!" laugh track is aces with me!

Way to derail the laugh track.

Although entertaining, laugh tracks are so fake! Reminds me of one of the Garfield episodes that when Binky the annoying Clown enters the stage, they show this "applause machine" to make it look and sound like they appreciate him. As Aaron said, laughter shouldn't be forced. Well, I'll track you down 3 sets of 5's for you!

Well said, AFW...I despise being indirectly told when the supposed funny bits are; it's an insult. Great stuff. 5555
