Eight miles wide, and when ice breaks off,
We’ll find that we’re drifting…oh, no!
Wide Lake Erie! Who knows where we’re going?
Just floating on this big ice floe…

Nowhere is a bridge to be found
As we sail a-way still further from ground.
One poor man fell off and drowned.
We’re stranded, just standing around!

(instrumental break)

Ice fishing is overblown,
But I felt like catching my own.
I’ll open a can of salmon
If I feel like fishing around…

Nice and timely - strange incident.

Ice fishing? Not a smart thing to do on a 53 degree day. No one could pay me enough to go ice fishing anyway.
