Parody Song Title:

"Kansas City"

Parody Written by:

Patrick McWilliams

The Lyrics

"Kansas City", by Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller has been recorded by a number of artists with a variety of lyrics. "Crazy way of lovin' and I'm gonna get me some" was "cleaned up" for airplay as "crazy little women and I'm gonna get me one". I've incorporated both lyrics using the Wilbert Harrison version, which is the one I heard the most often on radio and TV. Twelfth Street & Vine no longer exists. There is a replica street sign in the middle of a median strip to mark its former location. The Historic Jazz District is centered around 18th and Vine, just a few blocks south.
I am going back to Kansas City
Look out, Kansas City, here I come
'cause Kansas City has some crazy women
You can be sure, I'm gonna get me one

You can find me standing on the corner
Standing on the corner, Twelfth and Vine
I'm with my crazy Kansas City woman
We'll share a glass of Kansas City wine

I might take a train to Kansas City
In a hurry, I might take a plane
But if I have to walk to Kansas City
I'm gonna get there, and never leave again

Kansas City, gonna get me some

Wow! Six in one day Patrick. Caught me totally off guard! 555 on all of them!

I think this is the largest number I have posted in a single day. By the way, "Sacramento" has the same number of syllables. Security code "C4A". Is that some type of explosive?
Rob Arndt - December 07, 2017 - Report this comment
C-4 or Composition 4 is a plastic explosive. The British equivalent is PE4. I'm not aware of variants, although when used in an explosives kit or bundle falls under a M designation such as M183.
