Havent written a new one in a while....dont think this is the return to my habit.

Someone, through the door, strolls right in, to my kitchen
While my guard dog gently sleeps
He knocks over drawers yelling loud-ly and twitching
Still my guard dog gently sleeps

I don't know why, he doesn't wake up, nothing in-terrupts sleep
I don't know how he doesn't hear this
Laying in calm bliss.

He takes my guitar, and he pro-ceeds with strumming
Yet my guard dog calmly sleeps
He then takes a wrench, and he fixes my plumbing
Still my guard dog carefree sleeps

He sits right down turns on some hockey
Then puts in Rocky 2
There's all this noise but no reaction
Sleeping without a clue

He sets, off a bomb, which foretells, the world's ending
Still my guard dog gently sleeps
We all are dead...
And my guard dog gently sleeps.

What a weird perspective...it's like the narrator is telling us what happened from the afterlife. Wonder if the dumb dog went to heaven (or hell) with him? :)
