The Lyrics

Paul Robinson wants to write about "Mirror, Mirror"? Well, two can play at that game!
Crewmen flowing out like endless photons in a plasma beam.
They slither wily, it seems we're in an alternate universe.
Uhura, Scotty, Bones McCoy are trapped on this bad Enterprise
distressing and bad-guessing me.

Why Sulu hate me? Oh...
Something went and changed my ship.
Something went and changed my ship.
Something went and changed my ship.
Something went and changed my ship.

Image of a bearded Spock is walking down the corridor
the only guy who acts the same in this alternate universe.
Chekov wants to kill me off, let's stick that Russkie in a box.
Inside the agony booth here in this alternate universe.

Why Sulu hate me? Oh...
Something went and changed my ship.
Something went and changed my ship.
Something went and changed my ship.
Something went and changed my ship.

Whacked-out Starfleet, evil Earth
appears to be the twisted rule
the Federation's Empire-bound
distorting and reporting me.

Scotty's chops, Uhura's skill, and maybe just a flirt or two
will get the four of us back home from this alternate universe.

Why Sulu hate me? Oh...
Something went and changed my ship.
Something went and changed my ship.
Something went and changed my ship.
Something went and changed my ship.

Why Sulu hate me?
Why Sulu hate me?
Why Sulu hate me?
Why Sulu hate me?

Passable definition of "Trekkie": A guy who not only knows the titles of all 79 episodes of the original series (ST:TOS), but knows enough about them to write a parody like this. But then, as Dr. Gillian Taylor (from "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home") taught us, "Whoever said the human race was logical?"

Paul Robinson - May 03, 2004 - Report this comment
Michael - Great job! I didn't expect a follow-up to augment my "Capt. Kirk's Strange Crew" parody from yesterday. I didn't know the title of that original episode. I bow to your superior knowledge of the original series details. That was real clever taking the slur I had Sulu fling at Kirk and turning it into the chorus. I didn't get around to seeing this until just now because I was wiped out most of the day from playing golf yesterday (got to meet fellow author John Jenkins), it was well over 90 degrees out here. For those who didn't already suspect as much John is a very nice fellow and a gentleman. He's also a good golfer (which I am not). I visited sand traps, the rough, even whiffed a couple swings at tne last hole. Hmmm...maybe there's a parody in there, gotta think about it....but not tonight...
