Song Parodies -> 23
| Original Song Title: | "Let It Be" |
| Original Performer: | The Beatles |
| Parody Song Title: | "23" |
| Parody Written by: | Johnny D |
When I find myself in times of weirdness
Number strangeness comes to me
Synchronicities of
23
What is the first prime number
Whose two digits are both primes indeed
And whose sum is prime too?
23
23
23
23
23
Weird coincidences
23
And when the broken-hearted people
Living in the world seek peace
They will often read Psalm
23
Each human egg and sperm cell
Gives us half the chromosomes we need
Each cell's contribution
23
23

(yeah) Just a random number

(yeah) 23
Ain't no magic number
23
On the front of U.S. coins
Count all characters you plainly see
I bet you know the answer
23
The first Side-A song on The Beatles'
First album taped finally
After how many takes?
23
(yeah) 23
23
23
(yeah) 23
(oh) Mere coincidences

FREEEEEAAAAAKYYYYYY!!!!! Very original, good work!
Now that is a creative parody!
Goodness! I never considered all those 'coincidences'. Spoooky!! good parody, Johnny! 5's
What did those digits add up to again? ;) OOOh, another coincidence: It's also fun *2* multiply numbers by *3* (It just dawned on me that I might want to mention I meant the 5s)
interesting... but how could you leave out michael jordan from a parody about the number 23?
Very well done! Don't know if it's significant or not, but I played your parody backwards, and it came out 32 - 32 - 32 - 32 - 32 ...either way, you get the 5s. You've got a lucky face.
Now someone has to parody "Heaven" by Bryan Adams into "27".
You know my number (Look up the name)
LOL! I'll give you Pi, Pi, Pi....just kidding! 555!
Thank you all - Leah, John, Adagio, Melhi, Ethan, David, Agrimorfee, Rick, and Diva - I thank you all - 23 times!
Rick.....are you by any chance referring to a certain number that ends in the four digits "1223" ?

:o) I admire anything that can make math seem funny.
Two and a three ain't bad; well done Johnny
I don't know what I meant. I'm home sick and can barely type. But I like parody and was making reference to "B" side of single, "Let it Be"
Thank you, 2nz and Claude.
Rick - I hope you feel better real soon, man. I looked up the "B" side of "Let It Be" and now I see what you were referring to.

Johnny D - Was looking at this morning's "latest comments" are noticed the buzz on this parody. Well deserved. Johnny, you are rolling right now! I just noticed the blizzard of parody activity you've been generating lately. Now I've got to go check some of the other ones.
Far out! An old college buddy who was into I Ching warned about the number 23. One interpretation is "Your soil can not improve, so you must not proceed. All is blocked by a huge, immobile Mountain. Remain where you are and do not advance."
I used to be 23.
Yeah, I was 23 once too. That's uncanny.
Thanks Paul, Mari, Rice Cube, and AussieBullDog.
23 x 5 coming your way (if I only could!)
Thanks Peregrin!
Now that was really weird; as I was typing this and telling you I was going to give you 5-5-5, it first came out 6-6-6... Spooky... ;-)
Whoa, Meriadoc.....better have your scalp examined for strange birthmarks....heh heh heh....>;-)
Thanks for your vote! 0:-)

Hey, just two more votes and you'll have 23. This was really good. There are some interesting things about this number.
Thanks, Guy. Yes, there are a lot of interesting things about good ol' 23. It's kind of a hobby of mine to be casually aware of 23-related coincidences, just for fun - the skeptical scientist inside of me reminds me that one could probably come with equally weird stuff about any number, but it's still fun nonetheless.
Here's an interesting tidbit for all you Star Trek The Next Generation fans....have you ever noticed that in almost every episode of Star Trek TNG, the script-writers worked-in at least one reference to 23 (or 23,000 or 23 hundred etc.) ? Check it out sometime. My wife and I enjoy catching re-runs of TNG and watching for the 23-references that the writers slipped into the script...it's true, I kid you not...check it out.

I always noticed "47" popping up in Trek. Phil Farrand remarks on it in "The Nitpickers Guides" I haven't picked up on "23" yet. But I'll start looking.
Oh, goody, I got to cast the 23rd vote, what do I get? Oh no, is this a bad omen?
Not a bad omen at all, Guy - here's what you get: (Thank You) X (23) = A REALLY BIG THANK YOU, dude!
2 + 3 = yeah.... 5,5,5 nice.
Thank you, Loosekanen!
There's not much that i can say that hasn't already been said...I think it's fabulous...even though you did make me actually think with that prime number verse...damn you. 5's from me...=) my favorite number, btw, is 27...which is my vote number as well... yahoo!!
yeah...i like to pretend i'm really smart and cool a lot of the time...and then moments like this show me for what i really am...only 51% smart and cool and totally kick ass elf princess...49% complete moron...thanks for the catch, JD...=)
Thank you for the vote, my immortal Eldar Queen.
What goes around comes around, Johnny...you're always there for me! =)
5-5-5!!! I just read someone's posting which talked about how much they liked this song...so I had to come and see for myself. WOW!! Is it all true? Great work!! To quote Steve Jobs..."insanely great".
Thanks, Jude - yes, the 23-related things I mention in this parody can all be easily verified by anyone.
Johnny D - Uhhh...way past my bed-time and you'll probably be up shortly to view the new day's entries. Stopped over at your "Author" page briefly for a moment and lo & behold, "23" now has "32" votes. What could it all mean? I'd sleep on it but I think that would leave me with a really bad headache in the morning. NOW I'm done for the evening. Really...
Numerology rocks
Thank you MarthaDTox, my friend.
great job..tom lehrer would love this one...i do too
Thanks alvin - I'm likin' the stuff you've been posting, too, dude!
This and the others you've got on this website have given me great entertainment on a rainy Saturday afternoon - are you actually related to Tom Lehrer or has lightning struck twice?! Thank you for sharing your great talent!
Wow, thank you, Sylvia! No relation to the great Tom Lehrer, but I'm honored by the comparison. Cheers!
Caught this from JJ's comment, missed it first time around: beautifully worked :-)
Thank you, Philbo.
Here's three more fives from a fan--this stuff beats the heck out of the math songs they've written for kids' TV shows!
Thanks Ingeborg!
I know I've commented before, but I still think this parody is hilarious.
Brilliant work, Johnny! Clever theme, clever theme...
(123) I commented before WAY up there. I did revote you those 5's. (Was the sum of 2+3 a hint? lol j/k) Good one.
(123) and the emphasis is on the 23 for this 1. Commented and voted previously but restoring my 555 vote.
Oh, I thought this one was gonna be about me. Oh well, it's still really funny, Johnny!
(123) I think I must have commented before, but 5s
I wasn't around when this was first posted...but my, aren't you clever, Johnny! 555
(123) 23...is a magic number.
(123) *shiver*
:-) A good one to revisit, JD.
(123) I thought I'd already commented on this but no - inspired idea - brilliant JD

Good good, that's spooky...That's a great parody, but all I gotta say is, "You've got way too much time on your hands."
Thanks Dominic.
How the hell do u come up with this stuff? You have written around 500 parodys, and your average for every catagory is more than 4.0. U r such a legend
I do love numbers parodies and this is excellent. 5^3.
Let's see... 5 cubed is 125 (5 * 5 * 5).
Correct White Ant, of course I didn't give this a 125 but a 555. I should have written 23^2+23+3.
RA: Now that equals five hundred and fifty-five.
the beatles rock u fat lard
I hope the author of this parody is getting royalties from the Jim Carrey movie that is coming out this week!
Just put your bank account number in the next comment and a royality check will be coming your way. Don't forget to include the PIN on your bank card too. Also I have some wonderful beach-front property I can let you have cheap in Az.
