Note: Germany signed a civil armistice back home to end WW1. No German territory was occupied. The German Army had to march back in full gear and surrender all their weapons, AFVs, etc... Same for the LSK aircraft and all warships. This is the great stab in the back that led to the Nazis and WW2. Btw, it was the Weimar Republic that started rearmament almost immediately and the Autobahn. Hitler only finished the job. War production for WW1 was actually going on in 1919 until the ACC arrived and Germany had 50,000 troops that fought in a war in Latvia in which Latvia won Independence from both Germany and Russia! A few years ago I saw a German paste-in picture book (cigarette card album) describing the limited Reichswehr authorized by the Versailles Treaty. The authors made a big deal about the prohibition on artillery. There was heavy reliance on horses. Passenger cars with signs simulated tanks. Just last week I saw an article online that said Germany could not fly most of its fighter jets due to lack of spare parts and that Mercedes vans were being used in place of tanks for maneuvers.

Patrick, the Weimar stuff is only partially true. Weimar started concept work on bomber aircraft almost immediately which ultimately led to the Ural Bomber proposal. Weimar had real German heavy tanks built as prototypes in Russia and Sweden. Russia also aided Weimar with paratrooper training. As for the cardboard and cars tank maneuvers, that was true to assure the Western powers that Germany was weak. The prohibition on artillery led directly to the V- Weapons which Oberth proposed in WW1 and was scoffed at! The WW2 German jets had some success, but Hitler's 2 year initial ban on secret weapons set them back. By the time they were operational in 1944, jet fuel was restricted. Transition from prop fighter to jet also took time as well as developing new aerial tactics. But the Me-262 shot down Mosquitos with ease and did nail 509 aircraft, most of which were bombers. The second jet fighter, the He-162 only had 1 unit and three weeks of training/limited combat. It scored 4 kills. The Me-163 rocket fighter was a point defense interceptor with limited range and flying time. 18 kills. But the Ar-234 was used in the Ardennes as bomber, dropped the Bridge at Remagen, and even bombed a captured Luftwaffe base damaging two British Meteor jet fighters on the ground! It also made a great unarmed recon aircraft with a speed of 461 mph. 24 other German jet and rocket fighter were under development when the war ended. One or two may have broken Mach 1 and the disc craft were part of the SS Technical Branch E-IV. No alien reverse engineering. Just German secret craft. Even the Roswell craft was a Delta and NOT a disc. Possibly a Horten or Lippisch design.
