The Lyrics

Since taking the oath of office, the US president has been taught the limits of his optimistic 2008 campaign slogan. As he faces re-election, he may feel nostalgia for those salad days, similar to that expressed in TOS.
"Yes we can!"
All your troubles, greed and harm I'd ban.
Now it looks as though Republican
Foes make me grieve for "Yes we can!"

Suddenly
I'm not half-god man I used to be.
Rachel Maddow's gangs all glow for me,
But "Yes we can!"'s lame suddenly.

I see her Blue show and I know
She could be man.
I've done some things wrong;
Now I long for "Yes we can!"

"Yes we can!"
Government was breeze; I named new clan.
Now I need to race Republican
Who won't believe in "Yes we can!"

Why lead had to go, I don't know;
How could my plan
Have led left wing wrong?
Now I long for "Yes we can!"

"Yes we can!"
Government was sleazy game I ran.
Now I feed disgrace inside Iran.
Oh, I believed in "Yes we can!"

[Fading]

What became of "Mm mm mm"? .....

AFW: Thanks; those are my main targets, as well as "subbing" this president.
Yes We Can But Will We? - March 06, 2012 - Report this comment
Good and realistic parody. I like Mr. O, he's intelligent and has a good insight on the problems plaguing us today. However much of the crap fell onto his lap due to years of neglect and it will take a LONG time to recover. Still, whoever labeled Prez. Obama to be a "Messiah" or a "Savior" has rocks in the head.
There is no "we" - March 18, 2012 - Report this comment
Can the 20% of the population who, polled, say they are liberals, impose their vision of America on the 39% who say they are conservative? And which vision of America do the independants/unaffilliated want to be ruled under? The reason we are a Republic with democratic principals and not a pure democracy is to avoid the tyrany of the majority over the minority. The voters get the government they deserve. Certainly, historians in the future will not be calling us the greatest generation. Far from it.
