The Lyrics

This year in November I'll be turning 21, and though originally I wanted this to be written on that day, well, I figured, why not write it out now? So I did.
Years go on by, no more in my teens
But I'm not quite there
I can smoke a cigarette and fight a war
Getting married as a minor
Curfew is no longer a problem
Driving has been done
Imagine the party, wild, fun, and hearty
When I'm twenty-one

(humming to the melody)

I'll be one wild man
And if I have, some bucks
Alcohol's a plan

I've been a voter, I was eighteen
But in November
I'll be drinking Vodka from a cold shot glass
I'll gamble for some extra cash
Better be good though, or I'll get caught
Behind a jail door
Folks will say I failed, I can't afford bail
When I'm Twenty-one

I'll buy my friends some beer while they have to
Wait some more months to an extra year
We shall drink and spew
Drinking games on the board
Take a shot or two

Twenty's a bore now, I hate limits
I won't fight a war
Can't wait to go have some fun on that good day
When I'll just waste my life away
Pour me a cold one, throw in a chip
Oh how life is fun
I keep on counting, tired of waiting
Turning, twenty-one
November 20th, 2011. I will be 21 years, 252 months, 1095 weeks, 7670 days, 184,080 hours, 11,044,810 minutes, and 662,688,634 seconds old. That's.....a long time.

Happy future birthday...you write parodies beyond your years..

Happy Pre-Birthday!!! No wonder you write such silly songs... and here I thought you were much older!!! Ironically, at age 21 (1985) I wrote my first parody (which was Madonna's "Material Girl" turned "Venereal Guirl") that was sent-in to my local radio station FM-102.5 KSFM. The song was sung as a joke and then was stolen and showed up in Singapore in the '90s sung by an all-girl group!!! The lyrics were largely the same and I had no legal recourse as Singapore steals everything! Never order anything from that nation! Anyway, this year I started off with that same song now written 26 years later. It is my first song here on 3/31/11. I have only been here 5 mos and 22 days and have written 632 parodies!!! But I am dying and Porfle, you should take over on the production level ;-D

Sensei - I always assumed you were older! Nice work here, and I loved the Yellow Submarine-esquefinal comment. ;D

Everyone thinks I'm older? I guess that's a compliment. But yeah, even though I sometimes think like an older person, I'm just a guy who still lives int he basement of his parents house. @Rob: Damn man. What a trip up sh*t creek. @OMR: Glad someone got the reference there.

SM, sorry... thought this was Porfle's song!!! Damn, I can't see today! Anyway, the same applies to you and sh-t doesn't happen, life happens. It's no big deal to me at this point and for the record, I never competed with anyone here. My production level was my own and I only used the SJH song as a base song for info-parodies. I never was in any competition with JAB. I set my own records and have my own style and am unique with my topics and now sit in my own level here in the 600 range at spot #11 overall which was accomplished in 164 days. That's ME and no one else. SM, I will try hard to get out at least one more Samurai song ;-D

Great song. I'm flattered that Rob thought I wrote it! I have been doing a lot of Beatles songs lately. I lucked out on the drinking age thing--in my day, it was eighteen. I missed out on all that draft and registration stuff, too.

I remember the fear of the draft and Vietnam. Beer was 18 in Kansas. Never liked the taste of it. Right now you can hardly wait for 21, but it won't be log before you're gonna wonder where 21 went. Spend the years wisely and keep on writing. Security code for this comment "FKT". I feel like that sometimes.

Goddamn, now I feel like such a young person here. I will say, Patrick, I am excited for becoming legally able to drink, but I know it's just another year, and to be honest, the day I turn 21 in November, the "party" will probably be more subtle than ever. Will probably write a spoof to an Andrew W.K. song for the occassion, but meh...

And you can't understand why your world is so dead. Why you gotta keep in style and feed your head. Well, you're 21, and still, your mother makes your bed, and that's too long! But this rating of five will get you high tonight, and take you to your special island.

(SOTM) Oh I can't wait until I turn 21! I still have more than a year left to wait. Good parody though!

(SOTM) I remember my first beer, didn't write a song about it though. Only one month to go, Samurai! Just make sure you don't have class or work the next day, lol!

(SOTM) I'm turning twenty-one next March! Pity that doesn't mean as much in Australia as the legal drinking age is 18. Anyway, I have to admit that most of the funny in this parody is in the contrast between the lyrics and the OS, but that's not a bad thing. 555 for you!
