Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Jesus Christ!"

Parody Written by:

Lionel Mertens

The Lyrics

Jesus Christ!
Screams the man with his nuts in a vise
He needs the Lord and a bag of ice
‘Cause, he’s been screamin‘...
Jesus Christ!

Desp’rately, He squeals like a pig to be set free
There’s a battle waged internally
Oh, Jesus Christ! smacks desp’rately

Just another day
With low pay in paradise
‘Til he caught his stones
Now he’s groaning Jesus Christ!

Jesus Christ!
Is so very often vocalized
Especially when things aren’t so nice
Oh, who’s receiving Jesus Christ!

We should learn to trust
And not cuss with desp’rate cries
It is in His hands
He’s ‘the man’ called Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ, is my crony up in paradise
‘Cause I need his grace and good advice
Oh, I believe in Jesus Christ
Mmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm

This parody is more popular than me right now. (Beatles inside joke)

Lionel - I like the way that this one grows and transforms. Peace be with you. And Michael - I've always maintained that you are Lennon rather than Lenin. ;D

Some utter His name with the middle initial "H", though none can say what it stands for. Something like the "S" in "Harry S Truman". I like your reference to needing the Lord's advice. There are many who believe the Lord needs their help. When I was in grade school a nun made the boys stay after school and write down all the "dirty" words we heard on the playground. (You should have heard her account of the origin of the "F" word, and listened to the contempt in her voice as she pronounced it.) I had quite a lengthy list, as you might imagine. One kid simply put down "hell", "damn", "pee" and "Jesus". A Jewish man of my acquaintance would often use the name of Christ as an expletive. I guess that is a form of acknowledgment. A most interesting and inspiring parody.
