The Lyrics

This poor n00b comes to AIR with great natural talent, and while everyone else is Fiving him, the über-anal nit-picker (that's moi, folks) is ragging on him about his pacing. Since then, it's been a pleasure to watch that talent blossom into one of our premier parodists, my professional collaborator (twice), and a fine friend that I hope someday to meet. For all you do, TJ, this Fudd's for you.

Lingerie:
TJ crafts a "Loverly" display
"Bosom" Buddy: beauty, boob buffet
But booty, pay
Some spammer's prey

Suddenly
Gets a jagged ragging from TT
" 'Wry Gay' / 'High Pay' do not pace", said he
"Though brilliant gen --
-- ius, TJC"

Why... we... plunder ewes?
Such abuse!
Our sins, betray
Pris-...-tine... buns: array
Fine display!
"Three Fives", all say!

"Hip", hooray!
"Lip" clip: "piercing" sense of humor, play
"S & M" M.D.? Oh, no! Oy, vay!
Then Spock, he scores
The Vulcan way

Pun... re-...-grets; strife, gets
As wife frets,
"You've lost you're mind!
"And... your.... common sense"
But he's Mens--
--a's Master-kind!

Campaign day:
Thus Spake Sarah-(Palin)-thustra: fey [1] [2]
Even Stephen Hawking spits his way
Poor Frank and Nancy!
Both: dismay

Dear TJC: My pride, convey...

[1] One of those once-in-a-lifetime puns that TJC seems to find almost daily: adjective "fey", and Ms. Palin's SNL impersonator, Tina Fey. ... and catch the "Tina Feigning" in the song.

[2] (debated whether including this footnote would detract from the tribute-ary aspects) "Also sprach Zarathustra" (German), translated as "Thus Spake Zarathustra", a novel by German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, which inspired Richard Strauss to compose the tone poem "Also sprach Zarathustra", which was used in the movie, "2001: A Space Odyssey", and which I think Arnold Schwarzenegger posed to in bodybuilding competitions before becoming the Governator. Über-cool MIDI here -- you can practically picture young Arnold flexing.

TT, you are the master of weaving tune links into your parodies. Much work, much payoff.

Wow! And to quote my teenage daughter: OMG!!!! OMG!!! OMG!!!

TT, this was entirely unexpected, completely unnecessary.... and highly appreciated!
I'm stunned, chagrined and abashedly discomfited... no doubt your ulterior motive, you sly devil!!
Hyper-colossal uber-thanks for making me feel--if for but one shining moment in time--like a 'rock star'... or an 'Arwen-o-Spaff-o-JAB' or.... a 'TT'!
Now you've gone and done it, though... I'm afraid to ever submit again after so grand a build-up!

Bottom line--It's gonna be really hard to return to my day job as a middle-aged plus-size male underwear model... but--you've given me the courage to remove 'the sock'!

John Barry: Thanks, and please see my other post today if you have a chance.

TJC: Well-deserved, my friend, and long overdue.

Mark Scotti: The technique is a niche. (TT might have invented it; haven't seen it elsewhere.) Plenty more such TribTech on my home page, e. g., (PLUG ALERT!)

Yes, but yours was declined. Small, unmarked bills would be preferable.

Well-written parody, and makes me want to read more of yours and TJCs works.

I have not been around much at all to support either your work or TJCs, but if/when I have time, I shall make an effort to read/comment on more of your works. If time passes and I have not, it is because I have forgotten or gotten lost, so please feel free to remind me by PMing me on the message-boards.

Glen S, pleasure to meet you! Thanks for very kind comments. I hate to "nag" anyone to read my songs or anyone's else, but since you asked... (umm, how much time? lol) ...and yes, time spent reading TJC's work is well worth it. (Just doing the research for this parody/tribute brought enough laughs to reward the effort.) Thanks for introducing yourself and for the kind thoughts.

In spite of the blatant ads, it was good
Tommy Turtle - April 17, 2009 - Report this comment
John Lomain, thanks... umm, are you referring to the ads for *TJC*s songs? ... part of the tribute, so that those who haven't read them can see that he is indeed praise-worthy, a tribute techique of moi... sorry if that was not to your liking, but thanks for reading and for overall positive comment.
John Lomain - April 17, 2009 - Report this comment
Oh sorry, thought they were ads for your songs
TT - April 18, 2009 - Report this comment
John Lomain, no problem -- thanks for taking the time to come back and clarify!

It must be an "initials" thing but I have always liked TJC's stuff. Nice tribute TT

PMS: Nah, he's just *good*, like a certain other monogrammed writer I know. Thanks for v/c, and I've missed you!
