The Lyrics

See also: Last week's New York Post for the misadventures of "STRAY-ROD" and my parody "Shower in the Wall," for an explanation of a particularly gross episode of "Manny Being Manny." That both of these guys are Dominican-Americans born in New York's Washington Heights neighborhood is strictly a coincidence, and in no way should be taken as prejudice against Hispanic players. After all, among my favorite players of all time are Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera, Bernie Williams, and, of course, the part-Cuban Reginald Martinez Jackson.
Ah, look at all the lonely players.
Ah, look at all the lonely players.

Alex Rodriguez
picks up the girl who had posed in Playboy magazine.
Lives in a dream.
Goes to the strip club
across the border of Canada, Ontario.
Why did he go?

All the lonely players.
What goes on in their heads?
All the lonely players.
Have they gone off their meds?

Manny Ramirez
heading inside the scoreboard while the game's going on.
Something is wrong.
Look at him lurking
pulls up his fly as he walks out scoreboard's old door.
What was it for?

All the lonely players.
What goes on in their heads?
All the lonely players.
Have they gone off their meds?

Ah, look at all the lonely players.
Ah, look at all the lonely players.

Alex Rodriguez
hits a home run in the ninth in the rain at Fenway.
Ball flies away.
Manny Ramirez
watches it sail in the seats with a visage so grave.
Game he can't save.

All the lonely players.
(Ah, look at all the lonely players.)
What goes on in their heads.
All the lonely players.
(Ah, look at all the lonely players.)
Have they gone off their meds?

A-Rod's name should be Alex Holeaguez.

Pretty funny ... the pacing was off in a few places (accent on the wrong syl-LAB-ble), but otherwise a solid effort.
