Sunday's dawning at five o'clock and her day begins
silently closing her hotel door
should leave a note, bot then why say some more,
she heads west out to Las Vegas
nothing but handkerchiefs..
locked rental car, with her set of keys
husband is worried, she's free

she---she's not like most other wives
is leaving----sacrifice all of our lives
home---he gave her everything money could buy
for so many years

Husband snores, as his wife is rousted by vegas aides
call him at home he is waiting there
sitting alone, she has gone to where???
she came back, and cried to her husband,
daddy, I can't recall
sorry i treated you thoughtlessly
don't ask me where I was, darling please..

she--- she had some fun to herself
is leaving---- Vegas is fun for a while
home-- there is a history with her p.d
oh yes there is
struggled for many years

on that morning she called and said she's be partly late
she's gone away
off to vegas to keep an appointment she's made
meeting a man from the motor trade

she---what she did do, it was wrong
is leaving- patently patently patently wrong
home--Alberta's such a cold hearted place

something inside, she would run and she'd hide,
for so many years
how could she treat them so thoughtlessly
how could she do this deceit?
