The Lyrics

Despite the fact I went and got over 14 new albums and CD's this past week, nothing is coming together. So a tribute to our good? friend Writer's Block a.k.a. "I can't think of anything right now".
Writer's block,
All my thinking seems now to have stopped
My head's empty and I've no new thought
I need relief, from writer's block

In my head,
These are the days that I think we dread
Now I've gotta feelin' I'm brain dead
This writer's block, it's in my head

Why I cannot think I don't know
My neurons locked?
I could ponder on, wish it gone, this writer's block

5 'o clock,
In the morning ideas coming not
Can't be at all times a juggernaut
I need some sleep, it's 5 'o clock

Why I cannot think I don't know
A paradox?
I could ponder on, dusk to dawn, this writer's block

I'm a mess,
I think some sleep may be for the best
Now I need a place where I can rest*
This writer's block, I do detest

( mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm )
* The bed would be a logical choice but it is currently occupied by my wife and our pets. Recliner seems good right now. PS- I didn't check to see if this has been done before on " Yesterday " parodies or the " Jesterday " thread, so sorry if it has.

555 just for taking on "Yesterday" after the Jesterdays thread....we've all been there Antman; if you don't occasionally get WB, you're either a parody cyborg or prepared to post any old rubbish....

I know that feeling... since Yestgerday (and "I am the Bullfrog") I haven't managed to get anything ready. 555.

Am there, doing that, wearing the T-shirt. Total creative block, not just parodies and not just writing -- I'm feeling dull around the creative edges, like I've picked up some sort of creative-flu bug I can't shake. This could almost be my theme song, right now. :) Nice job with it, Red Ant. :)

As the self exclaimed expert on this song (11 parodies + the Jesterdays thread) I'm docking you a point on pacing based on some stretched/compressed syllables and the "false" rhymes in the first verse. Though I'm also the first to admit that's a bit harsh, so you'll still get a 5 on overall and 14 altogether.

As for the subject I myself have a pretty good idea/title in my sketchbook, I just can't come up with anything more than that for it... ;-)

Thank you AFW, Rick C, Kristof Robertson, Susanna Viljanen, Larry Hensley , SAK, Jeff Reuben and John Barry.

2Eagle : I almost go into withdraw almost when I cannot get near my computer at times.

Melhi: Thank you. If you wish you may use this as your theme song. Hope you feel better. :)

Peter Andersson a.k.a K1chyd : Thanks. Yes, this is a little diffiicult to sing over TOS so I can understand the pacing dock, however I didn't want to use rhymezone.com to make this though ( that would have required thinking ). :)

What Jeff said, plus it happens to the rest of us too. No sweat, it helps the most to completely take your mind off of it for a while. Good luck and good job shooting from the hip on this one.

You hit upon a common chord and played it for all its worth. I give you five fab fives

Sometimes I get aid from rhymezone, sometimes I don't, normally I'm a bit more proud of those written totally on my own but I gotta admit that my latest opus wouldn't have been the same that way:

Saw the link but DKTOS. Yeah, I would have needed rhymezone with that one.

I know it's a little late to be commenting, but what the hey? This is a great parody, and it deserves 5's... And I know the feeling, because I make comics a lot, and am now out of ideas... hope you don't mind if i take the idea of this parody for one of my own
Red Ant - July 02, 2005 - Report this comment
Thanks Dominic, and comments always appreciated. The idea for "writer's block" type of parodies is not a new thing so by all means~~
