Song Parodies -> "Honesty"

Original Song Title:

"Yesterday"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Honesty"

Parody Written by:

Red Ant

The Lyrics

My first Beatles parody! While I have seen many, I don't think this is nearly as good as the others ( tried to get pacing pretty close ). Just an opinion and wish. The truth is that almost everything in the world would fall apart if everyone was honest all the time. Then again, "Imagine" was as much a wish as well.
Honesty
Is not always the best policy
I hate to say it but I can see
But I believe in honesty

Truthfully
I'm not the boy that I used to be
There's a rainbow now that I can see
Oh honesty came over me

Why he had to lie I don't know
Not telling me
I said something true,
How 'bout you for honesty?

Liars be
Damned it's such a tangled web they weave
When time comes they'll get no reprieve
Oh they deceive no honesty

Why she had to lie I dont know
Not telling me
I said something true,
How 'bout you for honesty?

Honesty
Was once such a foreign thought for me
I tell of my faults openly
Now I believe in honesty.....

Red Ant, if you can write a "Yesterday" parody as good as this, you ought to consider participating in "Jesterdays" on the song parodies messageboard.

You want fives? "I think I'm entitled!" You want me to say this is a good parody? "I want the truth!" You can't handle the truth! Yes, you can, this was very good.

Thanks AFW. To Johnny D: I say the "Jesterdays" thread, but really am not that interested in it ( in all honesty ). :)

After parodying this OS a few times, Johnny D got to me on the "Jesterday" thread. :-)

Great parody...all the good words were taken, except that I'll repeat that it had a good message too. 5's

(H) Nice job!

(ABC05) This is better than Billy Joel's "Honesty". I really like how you took an overall approach with different genders.

(ABC) Not bad, Red Ant. 555

(H) Words to live by, Red Ant. Pacing is close enough for 5's, IMO. 5's for message in place of humor. 5's overall, because overall this is a good parody.

(H) nice sentiments, Red Ant

If a woman asks you if she looks fat, the answer is always 'NO'. Sometimes it's a lie, but the correct answer is still Frikkin NO.

While not very 'funny' per-se, this parody is meaningful and I get the feeling it's something you were writing to express yourself at the time. Here be some 5s from me for this this one Red Ant.

Thanks 2nz, and agreed on the "Do I look fat" question.
