Song Parodies -> "When I'm Sixty-Four"

Original Song Title:

"When I'm Sixty-Four"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"When I'm Sixty-Four"

Parody Written by:

The Comedian

The Lyrics

When I get older
Losing my hair
Many years from now

I'll be proud and happy and life won't be hard
'Cause I'll look like Jean-Luc Picard!

I will own every
Trek DVD
Who could ask for more?

I will still worship
Captain Jim Kirk's ship
When I'm sixty-four!

...you'll be older, too...

If I'm your favorite nerd...I could stay with you!

We could two-hand the TV remote
As we surf around

I'll pretend I'm Riker while you're Troi my bride
We'll get married naked with pride!

Practicing Klingon!
Costume par-ties!
Who could ask for more?

Be my Vul-can star,
Cure me of Pon-Farr,
When I'm sixty-four!

Every summer, we'll pretend our cottage
Is on Risa right where the skies are clear

Shore-leave every day!

And---for our dail-y tea,

Jean-Luc's
Own
Earl Grey!

Send me a sub-space
E-mail sublime
Stating point of view

Indicate precisely what you mean to say
In your Spock-like logical way

Time to ponder my
Trivia quiz:

What's a "horgon" for?

To learn the answer,
Come be my dancer,
When I'm sixty-four!

(Hoo!)

I would hate to face you in a Star Trek trivia contest. Here's a challenge for you: Put the history of Trek to Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire".

JD - You managed to cover so much of the substance which is Star Trek in such a short song with such witty phraseology. Who needs the next ST movie when we have your parody. Well done, indeed, JD!

Thanks Alvin, Rex, D'oh!, Royce, Kristof, and Guy!

To write this many great parodies is not logical. And the problem with this is... ? Rex: "Phasers locked on, now fire!" Yeah, I do believe it could be very easily done! OK, maybe not "very easily."
Johnny D - March 09, 2005 - Report this comment
Thanks, Michael. I've given Rex's challenge some thought...

Outstanding! Lots of great lines, but I particularly love the feel of "in your Spock-like logical way..."

Thank you, Leo!

It's illogical that anyone could write better Star Trek parodies than you, JD...I may currently rule the High Seas, but you seem to be in charge of the whole frickin' Galaxy!!! Of course, this clever remark is also a very SUBTLE hype for the "Pirate" parody I submitted Sunday morning that should be appearing in Monday's new entries...HAR! Should this seem unseemly see me later...
Johnny D - March 14, 2005 - Report this comment
Thank ye, Paul! HAR to ye TOO! ;-)

(ABC) An oldie moldie Trekkie ditty. Still good.
Red Ant - January 25, 2006 - Report this comment
(ABCW) Well, assuming for a moment I am a single female instead of a married man, I'd be interested. Err, wait a sec, maybe I should be singing the parody instead! Like this a lot, and I know what a horgon is since I just caught that TNG episode again a few days ago. 555

Stuart McArthur - February 03, 2006 - Report this comment
wow, pacing perfection here - I was going to quote the "Kirk's ship" line again (why does that always happen?) - so instead I'll pick out "In your Spock-like logical way" for applause this time
Rick C - February 05, 2006 - Report this comment
(ABC05) As has been pointed out, the pacing is perfect and, there are many good lines here! 555
Kristof Robertson - February 05, 2006 - Report this comment
