Song Parodies -> "Roddenberry's Lonely Star Trek Fans"

Original Song Title:

"Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Roddenberry's Lonely Star Trek Fans"

Parody Written by:

The Comedian

The Lyrics

It was forty years ago today,
Roddenberry brought to man, a play -
That's been going in and out of style,
But it's guaranteed to raise a smile!
It's hokey melodrama, true,
Attracting homely nerds for years -
Roddenberry's
Lonely Star Trek Fans!

We're Roddenberry's Lonely Star Trek Fans!
We hope they will renew the show!

Roddenberry's Lonely Star Trek Fans!
Eat snacks and watch our waistlines grow!

Roddenberry's Lonely
Roddenberry's Lonely
Roddenberry's Lonely Star Trek Fans

We all wish we could be there,
Deanna Troi's a thrill -
She's such a lovely Betazoid,
We'd like to take her home with us,
We'd love to take her home!

We all really want to watch the show
And we thought you might like to know
That Uhura's going to sing a song
And the Vulcan's harp'll sing along
To Bones and Chekov and Sulu,
To Scotty, Kirk, and Spock, a cheer -
From
Roddenberry's
Lonely Star Trek Fa-a-aaans!

(long interlude of the greatest album in the history of the galaxy...)
(...then...reprise: )

We're Roddenberry's Lonely Star Trek Fans!
We bow to Roddenberry's name!
Roddenberry's Lonely Star Trek Fans!
In sunlight we'd burst into flame!

Roddenberry's Lonely
Roddenberry's Lonely
Roddenberry's Lonely
Roddenberry's Lonely
Roddenberry's Lonely Star Trek Fans!
In darkened basement rooms we dwell!
Roddenberry's Pale And Homely Lonely Star Trek Fans!
We never wash or bathe - we smell!

Roddenberry's Lonely
Roddenberry's Lonely
Roddenberry's Lonely Sta-aaar ... Trek ... Fa-aaans!

WOOO!!!

If this is a part of a new mission to boldly go where no Beatles parodies have gone before, then I hope it's a five year mission and I'll say that so far "fives yer mission".

Delightful, Johnny! I especially liked the way you worked the funny line..."Roddenberry's Lonely Star Trek Fans! Eat snacks and watch our waistlines grow!".....into the music and made it funnier. 5's

Aw crap! I meant to vote 5s on this, not 1s! Somebody please counterbalance this out!
2nz - March 04, 2005 - Report this comment
Very fun and entertaining. You know that in "Futurama", Star Trek was turned into a religion around the 26th century.

Preacher: "And Scotty declared it would be NO tribble at all."
Congregations: "ALL POWER TO THE ENGINES"

I see that the "ones" vote is gone. Thanks to whoever removed it! (Now let's see if you can erase triple-one votes on other parodies.) ;D

Looks like my vote registered as 5,5,5 this time.

Abfabulicious! My own word I just made up for this occasion. It means absolutely fabulous and delicious! I am a bit of a science fiction fan in general, although, I do not consider myself a "Trekkie" or "Trekker." Although, I have seen more than my share to recognize someone has done their research. Logically speaking of course…hmmm…are my ears getting pointy? ^-^

This parody will live long and prosper. I'm just glad you didn't say Deanna was certainly a TRILL! Marina Sirtis used to do for me what Catherine Zeta-Jones does now. And she still looks pretty good, but, alas, both actress and character are hitched.
Chris Bodily TM - March 05, 2005 - Report this comment
You..... Could...... Have used..... More...... Kirk references... in your parody. Other than that, your parody was off the hook! It was highly logical AND funny! I'd give you tens if I could, but you'll just have to settle to 5's.

(ABC) Um, something tells me (54 votes and counting) that this is not the first comp for this one;0) Though that's obvious, what's also glaringly obvious is why. . .it's just enough gross (We never wash or bathe - we smell!), futuristic (long interlude of the greatest album in the history of the galaxy...) and just plain funny (It's hokey melodrama, true, Attracting homely nerds for years -) to really make anyone laugh. . .great job here Johnny. . .this is really the first parody I've read by you that really got me going.
