Very well done, Polly. I especially liked the chorus for the closely-matched rhyming. My only criticism or suggestion is that it might have been funnier if the narrator were a gay bird, too, like the ones in the news. Of course, they seem to be perfectly happy the way they are, so no reason to want to gnaw out, then. How about "Up, Up and I'm Gay With My Beautiful Macaw"? 444. It made me smile a lot. Not bad for a first attempt! I wish you wrote a second verse. I'm not sure, but the last line of the chorus is not the way I remember the original.

Polly - Pretty funny stuff, I docked you a little 'cause you needed to edit a little better (not that I haven't been there and failed to do that myself on occasion). I wouldn't have for maybe one or two but there were a bit more than that. Still, a very good first post here.
As a true lover of parakeets and parrots of all kinds, I could almost see this one. Nice, if desperate 'personification'. Subtle commentary on same-gender marriages, I wonder?
