The Lyrics

Sometimes artists can get pretty defensive when it comes to criticism. This is one of their more common tactics: the "it's stylistic" defense.
My main hobby's drawin'
And I do it my way
So I'm hatin' reviewers
And all of their dumb complai-aints
"Proportions are quite misshapen
What's the expression on their face?"
Tired of ev'ry single dunce who
Think that they're so grea-ea-eat

It's just my aesthetic
To have spines like rubber
I don't think it's a si-in
To not conform like a sucker
Some say I'm overreactin'
All these comments aren't worth the rage
Liars, I need to tell these schmucks why
My pictures are a-a-ace

See, ev'ry once in a whi-ile
Have to say that it's my style
You may say it's shite
But you would not be ri-ight

It's just my sty-y-y-y-yle
Can't hate my sty-y-y-y-yle

Lots of folks I'm blockin'
They can't see things my way
Callin' themselves "reviewers"
They should know my style can't cha-ange
So many folks are unsubscribin'
Sayin' it's uncool to erase
Dire critiques, but I say nonsense
That crap has no pla-a-ace

Upon my page, don't want bi-i-ile
Just cause they don't like my style
May say I'm unkind
But that would just be li-ies

It's just my sty-y-y-y-yle
Can't hate my sty-y-y-y-yle

Yes, it's possible to have your own style of drawing (you wouldn't want everything to be one homogeneous blob, after all, that's just boring). That doesn't mean you can use that style to deflect every single criticism, constructive or otherwise. Cause then you just come off as an insecure douche. Possibly because you are, but I prefer not to make assumptions.

So you're not going with the usual parody self-depreciation tactic then, huh? I'd give this 555, but don't make it your common style...

you big looser, you have to do it my way;) This is one of the reasons I'm only here and In The 00's.

John Kricfalusi (of Ren & Stimpy fame) has a wacky drawing style that really shouldn't look as good as it does but for the wacky slapstick nature of his cartoons it works! 5's
