The Lyrics

Harold Camping, scam-artist founder of the Oakland-based Family Radio Network, is a serial rapture predictor. Every time one of his “predictions” falls flat, he comes up with another date for the rapture—the latest being this Friday. Some of his myrmidon marks have squandered their savings buying billboards promoting his prevaricatory prognostications.
Why does this dunce keep opining?
Why does this creep bore us more
’bout the faux latest “end of the world”?
The snakeoil salesman’s next encore.

Why does this scourge go on bringing
Us fairy tales his fools love
’bout the faux latest “end of the world”?
What do these myrmidons think of?

They’ll wake up in the morning in October—
See everything’s the same as it was.
They can’t understand that their man is a scam,
Their heads chock-full of wooly fuzz.

Why do his marks keep on feeding
His coffers and buy his lies
’bout the faux latest “end of the world”?
They won’t pull the wool from their eyes.

Why do his marks keep on feeding
Him when he opens his pie-
hole about the faux “end of the world”?
Bankrupted by “bullboards” they buy.

I recall using this same melody to mock the first prediction back in May. Haven't seen any billboards around here this time. I like the expression "faux latest end of the world". Wonder what date he will set next when this prophecy goes bust.

This song used to really depress me when I was a kid, but you finally made it fun.
