I wrote this while putting off a paper. (there's no set due date but i really should do it)

Hello Starbucks my old friend
I have to drink your strongest blend
The composition that's due real soon
That I started last afternoon
Is not finished, I must write a half page more
And I'm sure
That I have pounds of eyelids

While half asleep I worked 'til 5
Hardly even felt alive
For the paper I had stayed up
By drinking coffee, quite a lot of cups
But by five the source of my caffeine had long run out
There was no doubt
That I had pounds of eyelids

By then I gave up and I slept
200 minutes, maybe less
What I dreamed of I have no clue
All I know is at 8:02
My real loud alarm was blaring to imply
I had to pry
Open the pounds of eyelids

Shoot, thought I, I want to stay
In my bed and sleep all day
But I know that I can't do that
If I did then I'd fail the class
So I'm here, and drinking coffee for
A quick cure
Of these heavy eyelids

And the students never learn
They wait too long and get burned
And their lights just do not go out
And they're buying from Maxwell House
Cause you know that, that company's profits are boosted by our lack of sleep
When we have to keep
Up with these many pounds of eyelids

I don't drink coffee

Excellent! Although when I first read the title and then the first line I thought it was going to be horror parody about the contents of Starbuck's more exotic brews.... :-D
