The Lyrics

Don't Know The Original Song (DKTOS)? It's on YouTube.
I was born a rich boy
With a cradle made of gold
And for much of my existence
I would always get in trouble breaking promises
But who'd have guessed
Faking sincere is a great career
And I'm the very best, mmm-hmm

When I left my home and my family
For Chicago, Illinois
And a job as an arranger
Of events to get campaign donations from the poor
Don't you know
I got lots of dimes and quarters
From the people on skid row
When I told them it would get them all a home

Lie lie lie...

Faking charity webpages
Was a portion of my job
Gotta fill those coffers
Even shaking down the whores on Wabash Avenue
I do declare
I would even cheat my dear old mum
To get the money there (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha)

Lie lie lie...

Then I saw my chance to join the pros
By saying "I'll give Congress a run"
'Cause I saw the vote was splintered,
No incumbency
To beat me
And I won

I am now a politician
And a liar by my trade
And they call me "the tactician"
For every promise I turned on
And gutted 'til it died out
'Cause for me it's all a game
I am thieving and deceiving
But I always shift the blame, lol

Lie lie lie...

So you've given up the fiction that President Obama was born in a foreign country, and you've adopted the fiction that he was born a rich boy? Damn, you conservatives are stupid even with your lies.
Rex - January 05, 2012 - Report this comment
Interesting that you would assume that this is about Obama. I did not mention any name because I didn't write this about any specific politician - it's just about corrupt politicians in general. I also find it interesting that you label me as a conservative, which I guess is based on your mistaken assumption that this parody is about Obama.

I assumed it was about Obama after the first few lines. He was hardly rich although his father had some money from various Marxist groups dedicated to ovethrowing the US, which Barry based his life on.

My first thought: Rahm. But then I saw it was generic for Illinois (and beyond), where every politician is even more corrupt than the thieves. in D.C.--and that's saying something.

Any rational person looking over your parody page would see few political parodies. Any rational person reading this parody would see no finger pointing. A name calling, knee-jerk liberal person who lives on anger and assumption instead of rationality would reveal their stupidity.

I liked it.

Just freakin' awesome, and could have been reading my own mind and philosophy on politicians. They are ALL crooks, no matter the party. Only the best liars, thieves, sharks and crooks can swim into the national spotlight. And politics aside, this is a funny and tremendously paced parody...top shelf 5's. Don't let Pacholik get to you, we all know what he's like lol.

Not a classy comment from you Pacholek, I am shocked. Rex is obviously painting a character sketch, much as Simon did in the OS. And a good sketch it is.
Matthias - January 13, 2012 - Report this comment
It could have been funnier. I'm thinking a lot of it has to do with Simon and Garfunkel's somber song but it didn't really pack the punch I normally get from reading your parodies.

(Artistry) I know this was meant to be a send-up of your standard corrupt politician, so why do I read it as a backstory for the Penguin? Maybe it's because I'm a dork...yeah, that's it. Anyway you slice it, this was really good, and you know you've written a good political-based parody when I get into it, even for stupid reasons. 555!
Blaydeman - January 28, 2012 - Report this comment
(Artistry) I didn't automatically think this was about anybody, just an imaginary political character. And I definitely didn't get any kind of conservative vibe from it, most people (liberal, conservative, or w/e) feel this way about any politician. I liked it, I thought it was really funny. This is why I really try to stay away from political comedy, it stirs up too many emotions for some people. Not me though ;0)
Below Average Dave - January 30, 2012 - Report this comment
The Penguin bobpie? Really? Interesting. . . anyway, this was good Rex, and unfortunately reality is most politicians are corrupt and have only re-election on their mind, not what's best for America
Neutral Neutron Dancer - January 30, 2012 - Report this comment
I didn't see any real slant in this nice parody. FYI Obama didn't "leave home" for Chicago, he grew up around there as an adopted orphan. Chicago (or anywhere else) has had its share of dirtbags too. I just wish all this abusive labeling of "liberal" and "conservative" would stop in America. In other places these labels mean nothing and they don't have this divisive "us vs. them" mentality. It's sad that so many people listen to these loudmouths who hijacked AM radio to hear some sh*t disguised as guidance.
