Original Song Title:

"Mrs Robinson"

Original Performer:

Simon & Garfunkel

Parody Song Title:

"Bishop Robinson"

Parody Written by:

Guy DiRito

The Lyrics

A queer's debut, Bishop Robinson
Lead us not to degradation, yo. (yo yo yo)
Oddness at ease, Bishop Robinson
Lo behold embrace for those few gay
(Gay, gay, gay...gay, gay, gay)

Will dikes follow your fiddle beat and shout views of your styles?
We know how you yearn you can't help yourself
When they crown you, will you plea these gay genetic lies?
Stroll around in gowns that thrill you to the bone.

A queer's debut, Bishop Robinson
Lead us not to degradation, yo. (yo yo yo)
Oddness at ease, Bishop Robinson
Lo behold embrace for those few gay
(Gay, gay, gay...gay, gay, gay)

Ridden in your riding place is that why your legs bow?
Buy some brand new panties for your beefcake.
Feel a little piqued, Bishop Robinson beware,
Feelin' blah, just hope your health don't hit the skids.

Any-cockle-do, Bishop Robinson,
Lead us not to degradation, yo. (yo yo yo)
Oddness at ease, Bishop Robinson
Lo behold embrace for those few gay
(Gay, gay, gay...gay, gay, gay)

Get-it-on the sofa on a sunny afternoon,
Cannot procreate with your soul mate.
Live without it, but I doubt it,
It's something that you choose,
Any way you look at it, there's clues.

You're into Mr. Magnifico,
Temptation now will most apply to you. (ooh, ooh, ooh)
You are so gay, Bishop Robinson,
Revoltin' your flock will run away.
(Gay, gay, gay...way too gay)
Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio
A nation turns its lonely eyes to you (Woo, woo, woo)
What's that you say, Mrs. Robinson
Joltin' Joe has left and gone away
(Hey, hey, hey...hey, hey, hey)

No problem, Guy....the entire gist of the song was funny! :D

I guess I'm not as religious or conservative or whatever, but I don't find anything wrong with a gay bishop...oh well, gave you straight 5's anyway :-)
Phil Alexander - August 06, 2003 - Report this comment
I agree, Rice: a bishop shouldn't be hitting on their parishioners of either sex, so why does it matter of what persuasion they are?

As a Yankee fan, I can never ignore a reference to Joe DiMaggio. But this was very good, if I forget how offensive it is. "Any cockle-do"? That was so horrible, it was great! And I'm glad you stayed away from the phrase "polishing the bishop." Phil's point is excellent: The Catholic Church should pay more attention to the gay priests they know they have than the gay parishoners they suspect they have. Billy: I can't imagine Paul & Artie singing it, but I can imagine George & Andrew singing it! (Wham!)

What can I say? These things need to be parodied - it's s a dirty job, but somebody gotta do it. ```````````````````` Editors note - The verse with Joe DiMaggio, as I noted above was inadvertantly left in the song as I was trying to make sure it got in today before posting and did a poor job of editing. I had a really bad internet connection and the focus was getting it in. It took aver 30 minutes to get this posted with ocuntless tries. This was the intended last line of the parody: ```````````` (Gay, gay, gay...way too gay)

Guy, I see that you got some flack for this one, surprise surprise; I love it, and I'm submitting one also, about the same subject.....

I am very ashamed of you Guy DiRito. I didn't teach you to be so filled with hate and bigotry. Nowhere in my good book do I tell you that it's your job to judge anyone else for being different than you are. If I do need your help, I'll be sure to let you know though. I know a fellow named Hitler that would really like you...
