Parody Song Title:

"Yesterday's 'Puters"

Parody Written by:

Phil Alexander

The Lyrics

Thought of this one after buying a used Compaq P3 for £39 on eBay - OK, so it's not as fast as the latest 2.4GHz P4s, but on a value-for-money basis... hell, it can't be beat.
Chorus:
Who wants yesterday's 'puters
Who wants yesterdays chips
Who wants yesterday's 'puters
16-meg memory strips?

After this time I finally learned
Why use all of the cash you've earned
Why spend megabucks on P4s
With DDR et cetera, because

Who wants yesterday's 'puters
Who wants yesterdays box
Who wants yesterday's 'puters
Value for money rocks! Yes it rocks!

Living a life of constant change
Every day you gotta upgrade
Yesterdays 'puters can't take the heat
By today they're obsolete

Who wants yesterday's 'puters
Who wants yesterdays RAM
Who wants yesterday's 'puters
Pissed off with it, I am... yes I am

Seems rather stupid, quite degrading
Again and again and again upgrading
Getting caught in that upgrade cycle
It's only corporate taking the Michael

Who wants yesterday's 'puters
Who wants DOS to run, too
Who wants yesterday's 'puters
I'll tell ya: me, that's who

Phil, I've worked on main frames that had memory banks of 128K that were the size of phone booths. Now this is what I call yesterday's computers. Well done. You've got 5K of free disk space, 5 pending I/O requests and 5 grace logins left..
