We had a white beach but BP has made it black
No blue sea anymore, the water’s all turned black
I see the pelicans caked with thick films of crude
They cannot lift their heads nor wings, they’re really screwed

I see a line of tar balls they’re all dripping black
The tourists have all left, they’re never coming back
I see people hit the beach and quickly turn away
From the smell of petrol mixed with the stench of decay

I step inside the water and my feet turn black
I cannot see my toes because the water’s black
Maybe it’ll fade away and BP can have some slack
It’s not easy facing up when you want your life back

No more will the green sea go turn a deeper blue
I can foresee the coast forever caked in goo

If I look out to sea into the setting sun
I see a whale who’ll die before the morning comes

I see a dolphin struggling to breath in the black
I see another one lifeless upon its back
I see some fish float by all dead I must suppose
How long can this go on? I guess that no one knows

Hmm, hmm, hmm…………………

The whole damn coast is tainted, tainted black
Black as oil, black as coal
I wanna see BP blotted out from the earth
I wanna see ‘em never, never, never coming back
