The Lyrics

I'm getting a little impatient for the Simpson's Movie to come out at the end of the month!!
Where can you go to get a hot "Flaming Moe," or
Or catch an Atoms game?
Springfield!
My fav'rite town, where blue haired people abound, and
I just said its name:
Springfield!

Oh, Homer is my hero even though he's not the brightest
Of all the asses in the town, I'm sure his is the widest
Donuts he loves

So, maybe I'll see you there
If you get lost in a crowd, just look for Marge's hair in ol'

Springfield!
Home of Lisa and Bart
Springfield!
And of the Kwik-E-Mart
Springfield!
One day will win your heart, too

(Springfield)

If you've got time to start a life full of crime
Chief Wiggum doesn't care
Springfield!
His little boy's stu-pid-i-ty gives me joy
Ralph doesn’t have much hair
Springfield!

Marge has a couple sisters who can't get enough MacGyver
Working at the DMV, they license Springfield's drivers
Otto they missed

'Cause he'll crash his bus sometimes
No matter how high he gets all the kids will be fine, they’re in...

Springfield!
I’ll never get my fill
Springfield!
Neighboring Shelbyville
Springfield!
Hope Sideshow Bob won’t kill you

(Springfield, Springfield)

Springfield!

(Springfield)

The owner of the Power Plant is evil; that's expected
Proven once you've counted all the puppies he's collected
To make a suit

But he'll get his due one day
He just might lose all his money, get shot by a BAY-by in...

Springfield!
Where it is no one knows
Springfield!
Radioactive glow
Springfield!
Home of the greatest show? True!

Springfield
(Springfield)
Springfield
(Springfield)

(repeat and fade out)
I left out SO much. I really should have chosen a longer song for my homage...perhaps I'll have to create a series...=)

This was great! And it would have made nice background music for some of the videos submitted for the "Real Springfield" contest - pity that's over! 555
Dylan Baranski - July 18, 2007 - Report this comment
The Simpsons are cool. I can't wait for the movie to be released.
Matthias - July 18, 2007 - Report this comment
555 episodes, and I'm probably not even kidding.
TJC - July 18, 2007 - Report this comment
Excellent tribute Arwen... and this coming from a fellow Treksoneeler (a Trekie who loves Simpsons and Wheel of Fortune...)
Michael Pacholek - July 18, 2007 - Report this comment
Oh, no, no, no... and this is NOT Bernard talking, this is the real thing... Your Demented Highness, how can you POSSIBLY like that awful show? It's crude, it's crass, and 19 minutes out of every 22, it's just not funny! No rating, because I don't want to mess up your score. Really, I can tolerate the Rings stuff, but not when the One Ring is "Mmmm... donut!" Even if it's a Dunkin' Donut. (Bernard is a Simpsons fan, but since you like me, he'd probably vote you a 1 anyway, but who cares what he thinks?)

My state (Illinois) lost in the Springfield contest, dammit. This was a worthy Simpsons tribute!

oh yeah

my favorite of the day...this was fun to sing along to
Rex - July 18, 2007 - Report this comment
I've never been to Springfield, but I've lived in St. Petersburg FL and saw a good amount of blue hair there. Well written tribute.
Beatlejuice - July 18, 2007 - Report this comment
Great tribute to a great show! Three fives.
John Barry - July 18, 2007 - Report this comment
Very entertaining.
JP - July 18, 2007 - Report this comment
I love it. Big 5's. I anxiously await the movie myself. I just hope it's not disappointing, like the Beavis and Butt-Head movie was.

Well, in honesty, I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did (I thought pacing that idea would be very tough) Great idea on a classic. As for the Blue Hair in St. Petersburg--I live in Tampa and go to St. Petersburg pretty often, I can say Rex, they still do, and green, purple, pink, yellow, orange and red too. . .
stuart mcarthur - July 18, 2007 - Report this comment
well if Matthias is right Arwen, and there were 555 episodes, they all seem to be wrapped up into this one parody (even the "Who shot Burns") - love the show, but I loved "I just said its name!" just as much - 555
John Jenkins - July 19, 2007 - Report this comment
The Simpsons might be the one thing I agree with Michael Pacholek about. The show has no appeal for me, but this has the appearance of a good parody.
Kristof Robertson - July 19, 2007 - Report this comment
I can't wait for the movie! This was stupendously fun, Arwen...lotsa great tongue-in-cheekery here. 555
Mr. Man - July 19, 2007 - Report this comment
While I certainly enjoyed this parody and gave it 555, I disagree that Homer's @ss is the fattest in Springfield, Chief Wiggum and Comic Book Guy are waaaay fatter than Homer.

Ravyn...=) Thanks a bunch!

Dylan...you and me both! Thanks for stopping by!

Matthias...hehehe...close...I think they are somewhere in the 400s...but I'm not obsessed...; )

TJC...I can't join you on the Star Trek...but I do love me some Wheel of Fortune! Thanks!

Mister Pacholek...um...this could be a breaking up point. Seriously. I LOVE the show. It's pure satirical genius...and I just can't wrap my mind around the fact that you don't find it funny. How could you not find it funny...? I'm just baffled...and a little sad. =(

Agrimorfee...sorry that Illinois lost...in my heart of hearts, I think that Illinois is closer to the Simpson's Springfield than Vermont is. Thanks!

Ann...thanks!

Alvin...it's always good to know that folks are singing along! Thank you!

Rex...Hee hee...nice! Thanks!

Beatlejuice...thanks very much! Are you new around here? I don't think I've seen you before...but of course, I'm somewhat sporadic in my site visits lately. Either way...(even if it's a little late)...Welcome!

John...I live to entertain! Woohoo!

JP...I share your concerns. I HATE it when a movie doesn't live up to my expectations. BUT...I have faith in Homer. If nothing else...I'm sure he'll deliver.

Below Average Dave...you should just make a habit of expecting to love all of my parodies going in...it'll make life easier...; ) Thanks!

Stuart...like I said...I feel like I left a lot of stuff out. I wanted to comment on Mr. Plow, and on Maude dying, and Marge being a real estate agent, and on Lionel Hutz, and on Kent Brockman, and on Nelson's "ha ha," and on Radioactive Man, and on Reverand Lovejoy, and on Grampa/the retirement home, and on Smithers, and...well, you get the picture. I'm glad, however, that you felt it was complete-ish. Hee hee...thanks!

John...while I'm glad that you and Mr. Pacholek seem to have found some common ground, I have to reiterate my concerns with anyone not seeing the humor in the show. *sigh* Thanks anyway...=)

Kristof...too bad we can't catch a premiere together, huh? Oh well...enjoy it on your side of the ocean...=) Thanks!

Mr. Man...of course you're right. I immediately thought of the Comic Book Guy when I mentioned Homer's "hugest" ass...but alas...I went with it anyway. Barney could probably give Homer a run for his money, too.

Jack...well, thanks! I'm sure you would have done it justice though!

Leo...thanks a bunch. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tickled by the response this has gotten. I haven't been writing much at all lately...so it's nice to be appreciated when I actually do end up submitting something.

Its not about homer SIMPSON, is it Arwen?. "On this pale fear seized every one; they were so frightened that their arms dropped from their hands and fell upon the ground at the sound of the goddess's voice, and they fled back to the city for their lives.
