The Lyrics

R.I.P. Pete Seeger (1919-2014) and what better way to honor this folk troubadour with a parody! There always is something to we find our Republic in danger...
Waist Deep in the Obama

(Sung to Waist Deep in the Big Muddy - Pete Seeger)

It was back in two thousand eight,
When the anointed proposed change
He gained the needed votes,
for an agenda quite deranged.
The change he wanted was ours,
So much for the voting we'd done.
We were — knee deep in the Obama,
But the big fool said to push on.

The Electorate Said, “Barack, are you sure,
We need this Green initiative?”
This scheme looks rather expensive
and we only have so much to give...
Swindlyndra took 500 Million
and then disappeared into the night
We were — waist deep in the Obama
We still believed this big fool to be right.

The Electorate said, “Barack, why do we need Social med
Whne the EU is awash in red?
“I have to help the little people!”
That was what he said!
If you really want to help them
lower the taxes instead....
But we were — neck deep in the Obama
but we still followed where the big fool led...

All at once, 2014 was upon us
It was time for elections, midterm
The electorate hoped that some primaries
would remove some Washington Worms
but the POTUS was still giving handouts
so for Democrats people would yearn
Will we make it out of the Obama
More importantly, will we learn?

We watched Obamacare descend like a plague
as Immigration Reform came to be...
Another 'Final Amnesty' for the illegals
Thanks to GOP perfidy...
Many are now fed up with the Obama
Lets hoppe that carries to 2016
When we may be lucky to escape with a Republic
And the opiate big fool dreams.

Well, I’m not going to paint any moral;
I’ll leave that for yourself
Maybe you’re still thinking, you’re still questioning
You like your freedom and health.
But every time I see the POTUS in action
That dreaded feeling comes on;
We’re — waist deep in the Obama
As the big fool says to push on.

Waist deep in the Obama
And the big fool says to push on.
Waist deep in the Obama
And the big fool says to push on.
Waist deep! Neck deep! Soon even a
Free man’ll be over his head, we’re
Waist deep in the Obama!
And the big fool says to push on!

Like you said, there is always something to protest. If only we could get some parodies such as this into the "lamestream media".

Glug, glug! He's not just pushing on; he's pushing us down, so your quicksand metaphor is very apt.

Yeah, about Solyndra and the money spent on it: The Iraq War spent as much as Solyndra cost every 19 hours. Every. Nineteen. Hours. And using a Pete Seeger song to rip Obama is just plain stupid. Sure, Seeger had some problems with him, but they were that Obama hasn't gone nearly far enough. As he usually was in his long life, Seeger was right.

Using a Pete Seeger song was perfect! As for your grasp of things geopolitical, you have a lot more studying to do. If you want to live in a socialist pesthole, the EU is only one ocean away.
