The Lyrics

On this day next year, I will be a married man. My fiancée and I now are in full planning mode...only to realize that we might have to cut back on a few things. So this parody has a hint of realism in it. Original Song
Baby loves me, yes, yes she does
I’m proposing tonight, yeah
Wants to wed me, yes, yes she does
Mmm, gotta plan it up right, yeah

Hey, sometime next year, we will be married
(We’ve gotta plan this wedding)
(We’ve gotta plan this wedding)
Married, baby!
(How will we plan this wedding?)
...oh my...

Ask your mama, “Can you chip in some?”
We’re both broke, but we want a nice one
Ooh, a beach wedding’d be amazing!
Nothing planned ‘till we know who’s payin’
All right

“She’ll dress in all white” “No, no she won't...
A new dress is too pricey.
So here’s ten bucks, so you should go
That Goodwill should have something.”

Hey, if we can’t pay, we can’t get married
(Way too expensive wedding)
(Who’s paying for this wedding?)
(We can’t pay for this wedding)

So, we don’t have a dress or a venue
Stay at home, broadcast it on YouTube
Babe, there is no reason to worry...
We’ll have food catered in from Wendy’s!

Hey, no matter what, we still got married
(Don’t need a fancy wedding)
Married, baby!
(No money for a wedding)
(We’re happy ‘cause we’re married!)
(fade to end)

Congrats! Are your Amiright buddies gonna be invited to attend? I just went to a buddy's wedding this past week and it was s bit classier than Goodwill dresses and Wendy's catering

We just did City Hall, had a party with two sides of the family, and went out to Cheesecake Factory with 10 friends/co-workers. Weddings shouldn't have to be a big deal, if you aren't economically strong. Cute but not uproarious parody, though. CONGRATS!

Congratulations, that's all I have to say other than the parody is good. As I said, congratulations.

(Artistry) This is what happens when people conflate marriage with a wedding (one's a licence, one's just a ceremony), putting pressure to do it all big and fancy to meet up with society's expectations. Loved this parody, short but sweet. 555 rings!
