WHAT A GOD-AWFUL WORLD

I fear all’s not well,
Countries at war,
Earthquakes abound,
And so much more.
And I think to myself,
What a God-awful world.

I see guns on streets,
So many killed.
And nobody acts,
No-one ever will.
And I think to myself,
What a God-awful world.

The misery around us
Is plain for all to see.
And there’s no letting up
For the likes of you and me.
I see friends scratching heads,
Wond’ring “what can I do?”
They can do nothing,
Nor can you.

I hear grown men cry,
As I do too.
Losing all hope,
For what can we do?
And I think to myself,
What a God-awful world.
