Song Parodies -> SBC
| Original Song Title: | "1-2-3" |
| Original Performer: | Len Barry |
| Parody Song Title: | "SBC" |
| Parody Written by: | John A. Barry |
With apologies to my cousin Len.
SBC
S-B-C.
They could live rent-free as a monopoly.
They just collected bread. It was easy (was so easy)
Like takin' candy (like takin' candy) from a baby.
Lines not free. Stalling your calls was then quite routine.
They'd do it, too. Then they got queasy (they got queasy):
FCC mandate (FCC mandate): a Bell baby.
Baby Bells became so hard to love.
Base and sleazy, they tended to lie.
The hard part now-they have to live with some
Competition, so they begin to cry.
Not so easy (not so easy);
No takin' candy from a baby.
There were seven, who (there were seven who)
Had a love fest and merged to better screw you (better screw you).
Now they can't fight it, so SBC (yes, SBC)
Has gotta fend off (has gotta fend off) VOIP.
SBC's (SBC's) losing monopoly to CLECs (CLECs)
That's what it took to shove them into (shove them into)
A market free.
SBC, FCC, VOIP, CLEC, AT&T, LEC. . . .
