Some people notice, there’s no fount
pouring out o’ the woods.
The water is slow-trickling over land;
for folks upstream, this ain’t good, oh no!
Situation isn’t good.

Castors go build a dam and now it keeps back water. . .
erect fast as they can.
So they wale on logs, bring down lofty spars
that come crashing down up on the land—what noise!
Tall trees fall in the forest. . .KABAM!

It’s more than a little gladey;
in shines a lot of sun.
Next the logs they mill with choppers than can damn
a tree. . .naught left but stump.
What noise—fall with a big THUMP!

And soon there is a pond with no strand.

So you hear a moan man who’s pulling out his hair.
He comes to the water to brandish gun that’s long—
he takes a shot and hits one square, oh joy!
Another shot—he’s bagged a pair.

Mad, he blows up the dam that now won’t keep back water. . .
wrecks it fast as he can.
When the logs are gone, he goes to a bar
and has a beer with Joe and Dan, pour boys,
who overflow until they can’t stand.
