You trusted snakes, they poisoned you
It mattered not to them.
I walked a road, not wise to change,
My contentment's undone.
That old pit viper made me swoon
Then I began to hum.
I thought I sang in an ancient tongue,
That's my bite from the viper's ....

In weakness was my pity plea,
Please shut your mouth, I plead.
I lay outside the viper's hole,
