The Lyrics

I was inspired by Callmelennie's version of this song and consider it to be one of the best I've read on this site. In my version, in the UK the NHS is the National Health Service and BUPA is the British United Provident Association - an international healthcare company.
BUPAHAVEYOUANYTHINGTOHELPMYMYMENINGITIS?

Oh BUPAhaveyouanythingothelpmymeningitis?
You are now my only hope with NHS in crisis.
Couldn’t even get a bed when I had tonsillitis!
BUPAhaveyouanythingothelpmymeningitis?

Um diddle, diddle diddle, um diddle ay
Um diddle, diddle diddle, um diddle ay
Um diddle, diddle diddle, um diddle ay
Um diddle, diddle diddle, um diddle ay

I’m often ill I must admit
Because I’m getting old.
I can’t remember when it was
I didn’t have a cold.

I look up on the internet
To see what I can find.
But it’s no ruddy use at all,
I’ve almost lost my mind, oh

BUPAhaveyouanythingothelpmymeningitis?
You are now my only hope with NHS in crisis.
Couldn’t even get a bed when I had tonsillitis!
BUPAhaveyouanythingothelpmymeningitis?

Um diddle, diddle diddle, um diddle ay
Um diddle, diddle diddle, um diddle ay
Um diddle, diddle diddle, um diddle ay
Um diddle, diddle diddle, um diddle ay

My dear old mum was just the same
When she contracted flu.
She tried the local hospital;
They didn’t have a clue!

They put her in a private ward
To put her at her ease.
But then they went and left her there,
So someone help me please!

Oh, BUPAhaveyouanythingothelpmymeningitis?
You are now my only hope with NHS in crisis.
Couldn’t even get a bed when I had tonsillitis!
BUPAhaveyouanythingothelpmymeningitis?

Um diddle, diddle diddle, um diddle ay
Um diddle, diddle diddle, um diddle ay

You know I could say this backwards, that is
sitigninemymplehotgnihtynauoyevahAPUB
But it still wouldn’t cure your ills!

So if you think you’re not quite right,
And need to see a quack.
Be careful who you go and see,
As it might be a hack.

I tried a local surgery
As soon as I was ill.
But all the doctor did was send
Me off with loads of pills!

Oh, BUPAhaveyouanythingothelpmymeningitis?
You are now my only hope with NHS in crisis.
Couldn’t even get a bed when I had tonsillitis!
BUPAhaveyouanythingothelpmymeningitis?
BUPAhaveyouanythingothelpmymeningitis?

My goodness, Glynn, what a tribute! Thank you! Seems to me that once you've got your title, this song is not that difficult to do. It has an easy rhyme and a catchy rhythm scheme. I find catchy rhytms get my creative juices going
