"Leaving Down the M4"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

A much loved vicar in our village retired to go and live in South Wales, the other end of the M4.
LEAVING DOWN THE M4

All your bags are packed; you’re ready to fly,
And we’re all here to say goodbye,
You know that we’ll be sad to see you go.
But the time’s arriving, the sun has set;
Retirement’s calling, you’re ready I bet
For you and Sue to find some peace, but know...

We’ll miss you and think of you,
Hoping that you’ll miss us too;
Go and find the peace you both deserve.

You’re leaving down the M4,
And we won’t see you anymore.
Lord bless you on your way.

In your thirty years you’ve seen some things,
God only knows you’ve earned your wings
The village here will never be the same.

Every place you go you’ll think back here
And perhaps you’ll smile, or shed a tear,
The church for sure will always bear your name.

We’ll miss you and think of you
Hoping that you’ll miss us too
Go and find the peace you both deserve.

You’re leaving down the M4
And we won’t see you anymore
Lord bless you on your way.

Beautiful sentiment. OS is perfect vehicle for something like this. Second stanza of OS is one of the sweetest descriptions of true love I ever heard.
