THERE GOES SUMMER

There goes summer;
Did you blink and miss the day?
There goes summer;
I think I need my brolly come what may.
There goes summer;
Roads like rivers every day.
I wish the sun would shine on my poor ol’ flooded home.

Now, spring was quite bad but now’s no better
I never had time to get a tan.
Soaked to the skin in the pouring rain
And they still propose a hosepipe ban!

Oh summer!
There goes summer,
When we met we went indoors
It was awful,
When it rains it always pours!
I wish the sun would shine on my poor ol’ flooded home.

There goes summer;
All those months, no sun in sight.
There goes summer;
Keep the heat on every night.
And those forecasts,
They are never ever right!

Now I want to take my little boat out
And try to catch a fish or two.
Go for a punt on the local river,
End with a pint, well, wouldn’t you?

What a bummer!
