A MILLION DREAMS

I lost my job the other day,
I don't know why, they didn't say,
What was I to do?
Heaven knows, what a state,
How long would I have to wait
To then see this through.

You might think, you might think that I'm going crazy,
You might think, you might think that I'm going mad.
Well I don't give a damn when you call me lazy,
I've a plan in my head that's not that bad.

For every day I sat to think
While sipping on my ice cool drink;
A million dreams went racing round my brain.
I'm not too bright at new ideas,
I often end up close to tears,
A million dreams were washed out with the rain.
A million dreams, off they went, flushed down the drain.

But I do have a scheme
That is much more than a dream;
It's at an early stage,
And I really have to smile
When I think what I've compiled
Right now, at my age.

This plan I have could yet come real;

I know I've done my very best
And need to put it to the test,
Close my eyes and pray,
Close my eyes then kneel to God and pray,

The dream I had has come to pass,
I've got myself a job at last,

It took just one, it's here now for all to see.
