Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Roger Clemens got his 300th win last night, as well as his 4000th strikeout, against the St. Louis Cardinals. Took him four tries after getting Number 299. When the Yankees win, they play "Theme from 'New York, New York'" as recorded by Frank Sinatra. (When they lose, they play Liza Minelli's original -- not that there's anything wrong with that.)
At last! This win has come along!
This lame-o wait is over, I hear Frank's "New York" song!

Oh, yeah, yeah! At last! This win is in the books!
I gave the Cards an "oh-fer," and my resume cooks!

I found a dream that I could shoot for
a dream I could call my own!
I gave the fans something to root for
my fastball was in the zone!

Oh, yeah, yeah! We smile
We smile, oh, and now the win was past.
And here we are in New York.
Three hundred's last!

Roger would've got it in his 2nd try if it haven't been for the bullpen failure.

How long ago was that? The guy who commented was me. Too bad it turns out Rocket might have been juicing, oh well. Speaking of which, is it bad that I still remember Juan Acevedo?
