A very old friend came by today
She came into my house and looked around,
and what she saw there caused her to frown.
She said, “You’re to blame for this hoarding shame!”
She walked through lots of stuff that was splayed
all across the floors and everywhere;
She could hardly get from here to there.
She said, “You’re to blame for this ‘storage’ shame!”

So she informed that I should be a-yearnin’
to get junk away from visitors’ eyes.
But my town has got strict laws against burnin’…
couldn’t torch it and watch flames lickin’ high.

She said, “Don’t grieve; there is a way
you can attain domestic vacancy;
this stuff will have vagrancy,
’cause Marie’s the name for tidying fame.”

So she informed that I should be a-turnin’
to KonMari; it would open my eyes.
There would be no need to get the stuff burnin’…
and watch the flames lickin’ up to the skies.

Now I don’t grieve; I’ve found the way
to combat spiritual vacancy.
Her words have sparked joy in me.
It’s Marie I name as a hoarder’s bane.

’cause Marie gained fame peddling hoarder shame.
