Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Yes, it sank. It didn't run aground. But the pun was too good not to use.
Here's my story, it's sad but true.
About a ship we hardly knew.
It took right off, then ran aground.
Never making Detroit town.

Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!
Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!
Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!
Oh, Hey! La, la, la, la!
Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!
Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!
Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!
Oh, Hey! Awwwwwwww...

(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
Yeah, I should-a known-a from the very start
(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
we were sailing to a big storm's heart.
(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
Oh, listen, people, what I'm telling you:
(Oh, Hey!)
We soon became a run-aground crew!

(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
Yeah, the west wind made the waves splash around.
(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
Wind in the wires made a tattletale sound.
(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
Ask any fool on Lake Superior's blue
(Oh, Hey!)
You might all become a run-aground crew!

(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
(Oh, Hey! Awwwwwwww....)

The waves came crashing around.
Yeah, the Fitzgerald's going on down.
Now, people, let me put you wise:
I went down with twenty-nine guys!

(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
Hear the moral of the story that the mariners know.
(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
Gales of November where iron-boats go.
(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
Ask Gordon Lightfoot, he'll tell you true
(Oh, Hey!)
about this ship and her run-aground crew!

(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
Yeah, watch the waves turn and curl!
(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
I know what they'll do!
(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
They'll sink the crew!
(Oh, Hey! Awwwwwwww...)

The waves came crashing around.
Yeah, the Fitzgerald's going on down.
Now, people, let me put you wise:
I went down with twenty-nine guys!

(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
Hear the moral of the story that the mariners know.
(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
Gales of November where iron-boats go.
(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
Ask Gordon Lightfoot, he'll tell you true
(Oh, Hey!)
about this ship and her run-aground crew!

(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
Yeah, watch the waves turn and curl!
(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
Don't you know what they'll do?
(Oh, Hey! Hey! Whoa-way!)
Whoa-oh-oh!

Michael - If the song "Fitz", use it. ;D

I've been tempted to use the "run aground" line myself. Actually, according to one history, the Fitz may have run upon a shoal at one time, causing damage that would eventually weaken the hull.

Hey Michael, could you do a parody that concerns the Dreadnought??? I think you could do it.

Next time, make a parody called "If Dion invaded AmIRight.com" which parodies "The Wanderer". Someone will laugh!
