The Lyrics

The Union Station metro stop in DC was shut down yesterday during rush hour due to a fire

She came out from business class
She headed for the red line
She hoped to finish her errands
As long as she had time
The news came on the intercom
All the commuters frowned
A fire at Union Station
It had to be shut down
Smoke at the metro, a fire on the rail
Smoke at the metro...

They said that it was a trash fire
It was beneath the third rail
The news distracted her train of thought
Commute was going to hell
Can't get home by metro
She had to find another way
A cab ride would be costly
So she placed her faith in MTA
Smoke at the metro, so Sarah took a bus ride
Smoke at the metro...

Did not have time to get groceries
Her food was stretched to the brink
But still she made herself lunch and dinner
Not cereal over the sink
Too late for the market and photo shots
She gets ready for bed
Tells friends her story on email
And wonders what response she will get
Smoke at the metro, so Sarah took a bus ride
Smoke at the metro...

This was awesome! Although, I wouldve loved a sub for "And fire in the sky", but that goes with this pretty well too,so 5s

Thanks Dave, Matthias and Jack. Jack, I subbed "rail" for "sky" in the line you mentioned (the fire was on the third "electric" rail)

Considering the London Underground shuts down for days if a passenger farts too loudly; you get no sympathy from me. You do, however, get a flaming fistful o' fives.
