Song Parodies -> "Mean Gein's Ghastly Home"

Original Song Title:

"Green Green Grass of Home"

Original Performer:

Dean Martin

Parody Song Title:

"Mean Gein's Ghastly Home"

Parody Written by:

Merry & Pippin

The Lyrics

His old home now looked quite plain
Out it kept Wisconsin rain
Descend’ from Prussia, were his Mama and Papa

Quite a load he took from cemetery
There unfolded script quite scary
Not good, as such, was mean Gein’s ghastly home
And they’re sure he was dealin’
In pastime: necrophelin’
Was evil, much, at mean Gein’s ghastly home

In his house were skulls standing
Igor-like he snatched and pried
Up caskets mouldering; artistry to ply on

Vest not plain: bedecked with mammararies
Shades are pulled with lips: be wary
Cadav’rous touch in mean Gein’s ghastly home
Teats are a-dorning belts, see;
Skin stretching’ on upholst’ry
Preserv-ed snatch in mean Gein’s ghastly home

[spoken:

The cops did take a peek around, saw
Where poor Bernice hung around raw ]
Like venison - what next was ol’ Ed scheming?

Poor Mary Hogan’s dermis masked was tawdry
Farm alarm was Plainfield’s fame-break
Film owed so much to mean Gein’s ghastly home
Hollywood’s claim to seamy
With the aid of that Psycho theme
As Bates slayed, bequeathe of mean Gein’s ghastly home

What's up with you two? Yesterday it was "Abhor" and today it's Norman Bates? This is way too freaky now.

CALLING Alvin Rhodes - Another Bates sighting - that's two and counting today.

M&P I cannot begin to describe the imagery this invoked as I read it. Lots of great lines, subs and refs. Kooky spooky. Well done!

Fave line: "Shades are pulled with lips: be wary"

You two cut-ups... This is a good parody any way you slice it, although some might find it a little hard to swallow.

Thanks all - this one was great fun to write.

Guy - yes, Alvin did inspire this one.

And a little piece of trivia: altho' Gein was the inspiration for Psycho, the prototype for the house in the movie was actually an old manse near Kent State University.

Michael - You have that confused with the joke about the two cannibals. One says to the other:

Hannibal - I have indegestion.
Cain N Abel - What brought that on?
Hannibal - Some people I just can't swallow.

I get to vote twice on this one. I had my laptop about 3 1/2 hours NW of my home visiting friends and I voted up there. Now I am home and I can vote again. So each one of you get a vote from me as it is well deserved and it is again a high five.

Merry - I'm still waiting for Alvin to weigh in on these.
